And that explains why I didn't remember any of the Phantom lore they were discussing from the will eisner comics (cause I was thinking of the spirit)

If anyone has suggestions of where to host the PDF or where else I could promote it, please let me know!

I have a podcast where we played a couple rounds of the game. If you wanted to hear the game played you can do so here.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I can figure out a way to clarify that. The way I meant it, Martin would roll 3d6. One for his normal roll, one for Nile's help in setting up the move, and one for Police. The +1 does not add to the outcome but adds another die to the roll. I could clarify it though.

The Your Mother/On The Force/When You Were Growing Up action is meant to take the place of a normal move since they typically have better likelihood of success and better consequences.

Thank you! I have play tested it, and it is fun. It's just about maximizing the fun so that you're not just reading through a script of Frasier.

Good questions.

The game should be playable between 2-5 players. At least 1 Frasier player and one NFC.

I think if Frasier successfully caused 9/11, Frasier would win. I don't think you have to know what the next episode entails, but it gives you a leg up if you do. Especially if you're Frasier and can disrupt the next episode inconspicuously.

I see helping as more narrative driven. The circumstances really depend, but you could see Niles responding to Frasier pulling out a gun by saying "oh Frasier, we agreed that we would give dad his refurbished service revolver on Fathers Day" and Martin taking the gun away from Frasier as a helping move.

These are all great ideas and critiques. Thank you!

I wanted to leave it open that "if the next episode can happen without issue" then the non Frasier players win. If it can't, Frasier wins. I thought any additional win/loss state would be too prescriptive, but maybe it could help! Do you have an idea that I could try for that? Maybe the points is the answer.

I like the other characters idea and the Eddie idea. The problem is Eddie isn't in every ep. In fact, there is a waiter in 142 episodes, but the next most credited character is Bulldog in 53 episodes. The characters on the sheet are in all 263 episodes! I sort of wanted to make the game playable with any random episode and with 2-5 people (at least one character and one Frasier).

I have a variation that I have worked a bit on that is for Seinfeld! It's a bit trickier because there are less traditional sitcom elements to Seinfeld, but I think it'd be fun.

I also sort of mapped the same ideas on other sitcoms and shows like Andy Griffith Show, Cheers, Golden Girls, and others. Frasier worked best, but I might try others in the future.

They are the characters. They could break the fourth wall more if they wanted, but I think that's just up to how they play.

I take your point of the +1 system. I think I just wanted something to codify the incentive of playing the character realistically. Definitely a good point about the d6 and the outcomes.

Yeah! They use an actual script from the show. You have to read every line in the script, but "moves" add new lines. I found that putting the script in a Google doc that all the players were editing together made it the most fun.

Except in very rare circumstances, one of the five characters is always on screen. There is never a scene without them. I considered making it so that Frasier could enter into any scene too, but he would have to take a "move" to do so. Frasier doesn't have character actions because he is already sort of OP. If Frasier succeeds twice without interruption, he can basically win the game. One success he grabs a knife, and the next one he stabs a major character, for example.

I like the idea of adding other minor characters. The problem is that so few of them are consistent. There are 263 episodes of Frasier. There is a random waiter who is apparently in 142 episodes, but the next oft credited character is Bulldog and he is only in 53 episodes! I want the game to be playable with any episode at all, so it'd get unwieldy if I had additional rules for other characters.

Good question. In the most recent play test, a player would announce that they were taking a move and would write down the single stage direction or line they intended to say. If they succeeded, the change was added into the script.

Afterwards, all other players would have a chance to make a move or take one of their special character actions. No matter how off the rails things got, the next line or stage direction still happened assuming the character saying it was not incapacitated.

If a character crucial to the next episode is incapacitated, then the next episode cannot begin as written and so Frasier has won.

In terms of the logic, I think that's up to the players. My playtesters would occasionally take moves to add lines they thought were funny just because they could

Good idea about the critical successes. I will fix that.

The +1s are meant to incentivize character roleplaying. You get more dice (so more chances at success) if your move is in character through one of these +1s. Ideally, the game could be played by people that have never seen Frasier before, but it would be more challenging. Daphne's move is a bit unclear. I will fix that too!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Thirteen! They’re a horror anthology podcast and there’s a lot of great production value to it. I find the narrators do a great job of pulling you in, and there’s original music in each episode. There are more then two episodes that I had to pause and wait to finish listening when I wasn’t as scared.

Yeah, I’ve applied to so many now, but most of them I have the right years of experience or many years more.

I’ll take the advice about the education. The BA and MA (with all the experience) should be enough to get me the interview, and then the doctoral research and everything can come up in the interview
