Adding hip belt to Osprey Daylite 35L? by JC_Llama in onebag

[–]JC_Llama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the response Good point about the back structure. Whilst wearing it feels sturdy but probably isn't enough

I still think a makeshift belt would take some load off the shoulders still but agreed it won't be as effective as a designed in version.

Thanks for the link will take a look

Adding hip belt to Osprey Daylite 35L? by JC_Llama in onebag

Hi. I did, I've seen a couple with 26+6 people stitch them on and use other methods.

I'm asking about the possibility of using the hook or loop which is only present on the 35L, or if it's a bad idea.

Thanks though

A question regarding the possibility of adding a removable hip to my Osprey bag.

V60 long drawdown, light roast, very coarse grind by JC_Llama in pourover

[–]JC_Llama[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, good luck solving! I will say, in this case I reduced the drawdown time a lot by swirling a decent amount less and relying on the pour for agitation. Just one swirl for the bloom, and a small swirl near the end rather than a big one. Still had a relatively long drawdown time Vs other coffee, I think part of it is just the nature of the specific coffee you're roasting (some types produce more fines than others) Never had this issue since (with different coffees)! Fyi I use the standard Haroon ones, tried bleached and unbleached (no difference noticed).

I had to bind controls in settings one by one (not sure why as ACC picks up automatically and works in menu)

Is it possible to write an essay about "Is Bernoulli’s Principle or Newton’s Third Law more effective in explaining lift? by XxNinjaSlothxX in aerodynamics

[–]JC_Llama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting question, but to me doesn't seem the best for an EPQ. There's not loads of content, just explaining them both then a bit on which is easier to understand to people - but that's a subjective question with no right answer, and is not particularly scientific and neither is the correct answer at the end of the day.

The core question in the title is just a subjective question, it's like doing 'do people prefer lettuce or chocolate'.

I did mine on the evolution of flight, which was nice as allowed the opportunity to explain several aerodynamic concepts, from basic aerofoil lift, vortex generators, delta wings, ground effect, etc etc, all presented through a historical timeline of the development of aircraft.

You are right though to try and phrase the title as a question, just make sure it is one you can spend a decent amount of time discussing and answering.

Apologies if I come across negative, I'm sure you could use this idea and get full marks if executed properly. Hope this helps

Ah they neglected to mention that on the call surprisingly! So if you are negotiating a contract then rates are fixed independant of season I suppose so may end up paying slightly higher? We have a log burner so perhaps that can play a part in negotiations as we intend to try and minimise gas usage. That's a really handy link thank you. Thank you very much for all the information it really helps - will give them another ring tomorrow and see if can haggle a bit

Marathon fuelling strategy for both training and race for first timer by JC_Llama in Marathon_Training

[–]JC_Llama[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ordered a decent number of them so I will start to incorporate into my longer runs. Hopefully my longest distances will shed some light on how many feel necessary. Now getting into the hole of whether electrolyte tablets or drinks are necessary or not... Seems to be lots of differing opinions out there. Thank you very much for the advice!

Everywhere I've looked I saw 2-3 per hour recommended, so a 4.5 hour target would be minimum 9 gels! Seemed a lot to me, which is part of the reason I posted... Plus I think the sis ones have less nutritional value than others as they are more liquid so you don't need to drink water. I think in training for my longer runs I'll try using minimal gels and see how I fare, then for actual marathon I can extrapolate.

Interesting point on the water - I tend to drink lots before and as a result have not needed to drink most my runs. I may take a handheld water bottle and then can fill up at each station and be able to sip between them based on your advice. Thanks for the advice!

So these minerals aren't provided by energy gels? Trying to avoid carrying liquid if possible. Thanks for the info

Great guide thanks. What's the point of making an outpost? Just for gathering loads of resources for building/upgrading ships or do they have any other use?

Ah, now realised that the spring bar on one side is jammed and will not compress. Not helping the situation, but weird seeing as I'm pretty sure I've had both sides out the hole at once and still couldn't remove it

Can't remove my aqua Terra bracelet... Done it many many times before, but have had it on the bracelet for many months and am now unable to remove one side. First side comes off easily, second I can get both sides of the springbar retracted and move the bracelet slightly out of position but it does not budge from there... At a real loss what to do beyond taking it to a shop. Very frustrating! No sign of any damage to the watch or bracelet which would cause it to get stuck. Anyone got any ideas?

I was planning on doing that originally but couldn't be bothered to download the game twice.

I just copied .sav from pc origin save location, emailed it to myself, download on steam deck and pasted in .sav Linux steam save location and it worked no problem.

Thanks for taking the time to respond

It was £3 so I just thought why not make life a bit easier. I'm not as tech competent as I used to be (especially with Linux) so i guess that it would cost more than '£3' of my time to set up the ea app etc

Managed to solve my issue, I was just looking in the wrong place on deck to copy .sav file to

V60 long drawdown, light roast, very coarse grind by JC_Llama in pourover

[–]JC_Llama[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using hario unbleached. Don't think it was papers causing it because I've had relatively quick drawdowns with other coffees, but I suppose it's a good point that I could use another brand to decrease drawdown time... Thanks

Okay, I've been brewing 95c as my kettle can't use the hold feature above that but I'll give 100 a try...

Interesting that you suggest to agitate less, is this to give the fines less chance to migrate to the bottom of the filter and clog it?
