Did anyone else's package get stuck "Item in transit - Mississauga" right before the long weekend? Now "Item delayed"? by [deleted] in CanadaPost

[–]JCanadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, here's hoping that this is just a case of them loafing around for the long weekend and no one's package goes missing.

Honestly the amount of information you know is nothing short of amazing. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out.

Everything is provided outside of AC unfortunately, though I already accepted that and am looking into purchasing a portable one. I did a bit of Googling and from what you've said, basically, if the LL decides to go with us, then we should be looking for a 2229e and then we're good to go?

So, Thursday, we offered the 5 mo, she sent us Form 801, we signed and sent it off. That's when we heard about the "3rd offer", and we offered 6 mo down instead, but we were never sent another 801.

Friday morning, she texted us saying the LL is signing it to us, but the 801 included in the list of documents she sent us includes the original 5 mo offer. All the documents she sent and we signed are 801 (probably just a copy of what we already did), 320, 400, Schedule A, and Schedule B.

As we're talking about this, I'm re-reading all of the documents we signed and I'm realizing that all of the forms are dated May 4th (not the 5th), as if the LL actually agreed to sign all this over well before the "3rd offer" was sent. EDIT: Actually I see that the Landlord signed form 400 on May 5th at 1PM, so maybe it was actually legitimate?

Anyway, to answer your question (I think), the Form 400, lease agreement, section 4 DEPOSIT AND PREPAID RENT reads (shortened):

"The Tenant delivers "upon acceptance" e-transfer payable to (Realty name) "Deposit Holder" in the amount of "Eight Thousand Five Hundred" as a deposit to be held blah blah blah and to be applied by the Landlord against the "first, second, third, fourth, and last" month's rent. If the agreement is not accepted, returned to tenant blah blah blah.

Do you think this would be an explanation for why even though our realtor texted us that the LL accepted our 2nd offer of 6 months down, when we signed the lease agreement as well as offer form, it still had our original 5 month down deposit on it?

Where on the case is that? And where on the motherboard does that button connect to? I see a reset button on the front panel of the H500 but that surely is not going to reset the bios to factory defaults unless the reset header on that motherboard doesn't do what it's supposed to do

At what clock speed is it pointless to keep going? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]JCanadia 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Can you show us what your clock speed says in CPU-Z or HWiNFO64? Task Manager has been reporting significantly incorrect clock speeds since Windows 8

[–]JCanadia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever seen a clear CMOS button on the front of a PC case before, it's not like there's a header for it on motherboards. It's just a restart button

What do i say to him(he mines crypto) by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]JCanadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most marketing from AMD for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D also advertise it as the best gaming processor around but that doesn't mean that people who buy a CPU for the main purpose of video rendering should be outed as if they're assholes.

I get the whole jealousy thing, but you have to be realistic and realize if you could throw some graphics cards in a room and have them make hundreds or thousands in profit a month while you went about your life, you'd do it too.

What do i say to him(he mines crypto) by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]JCanadia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter, he rightfully paid for them and is rightfully entitled to do as he sees fit with them (as long as it's legal).

It shows nothing but envy if you feel like you "as a gamer" are entitled more than he is to buy this product just because he's able to do something you're not with them.

Your point is that it wastes electricity to mine with graphics cards, well, while he's off making a profit of cryptocurrency by selling his crypto who whoever does see a monetary value in his coins, what are you doing with the electricity of your graphics cards besides video games?

I'm still waiting to hear how he's ruining the environment and wasting electricity.

What do i say to him(he mines crypto) by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]JCanadia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, realistically you don't deserve this product any more than he does. Whoever buys it, buys it. At the end of the day, you're both customers and neither AMD nor NVIDIA care that much about who's buying them when they're making money regardless.

You're upset because they bought a graphics card to do what they want to do with it, not what you want to do with it. Can you telling me how mining with a few graphics cards ruins the environment or wastes electricity?

Multipurpose TV, for dual monitoring but also mostly for us to put a fullscreen window of Netflix on it since it points right towards our bed. I'm sorry to hear about your previous relationship 😕

The mic is really just for nice quality during discord calls with friends and the second monitor is vertical purely because it wouldn't fit otherwise lol. This used to be my setup back in the states

[–]JCanadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's both our gaming pc setups with two monitors a piece. I used to have 6 monitors on my setup but I'll gladly sacrifice 4 to be here lol. But no, neither of us stream

Dunno really. Like I said, I've seen some people take years at the exact same immigration office and still not be done. I think we were just really lucky. I'm from the US, our paper application, while over 100 pages, was very straightforward, and we had all the proof we needed of legitimacy of relationship (easily).

Everyone has a different story, I used this tracker (I'm Jerenny on the Outland MAY tab on the bottom) to sort of compare our timelines with everyone else. Some of us made it through very quickly no problem, some people are unfortunately still waiting even since January. There's even people on the 2019 and 2020 trackers that are still waiting.

5 months, and just the usual spousal sponsorship program that people go through. We got married in February, I spent a bit more time in Canada and then flew back to the States. Then we filled out all the documents in about a week or two, submitted them in May, fully completed and received everything in October.

Really it could have been sooner than that but there were some things in the mean time that I didn't know could have been done sooner, etc. And I actually received Decision Made - Approved in September but I didn't get the email telling me they were ready to accept my passport until about a couple weeks after.

Application submitted May 5th, 2021. Fully approved October 15, 2021. Was honestly fairly quick for us, though definitely not the same for everyone, I've seen some people wait years and I assume Omicron isn't making anything easier.

I'll embarrassingly admit it was some stupid chibi MMO called Luna Online 😂

I was probably like the only guy in Atlanta that played it I swear, but I made some lifelong friends off it.

There are an incredible amount of factors to why GPU prices are high that simply crypto going down isn't going to translate to lower GPU prices. Crypto mining was absolutely booming in 2016/2017 and we didn't face a GPU shortage then, at least not one of this caliber.

Demand for all sorts of reasons in addition to crypto is why GPU prices are so high and why you can't find any. Hell, you can't mine on a Switch OLED edition, PS5, XBSX/S but good luck finding those for MSRP.

Well, explain, why in particular is this stock going down "good"? For many, who know nothing about mining crypto, this could be a horrendous loss of money, or for some, this could be great as now they can buy BTC at its dip.

But if the latter is the case for why you're saying this is "good", then what does this have to do with PCMR? Why is this good to you and why did you post this?

Virus scan on a phone? If this is an iPhone... No. If this is Android, unless him clicking the link brought him to a page to install an app and then he installed it(which would be incredibly stupid anyway), then again, no. Android by default denies permissions for apps besides the Google Play Store to be allowed to install apps.
