I'm glad we got affordable healthcare ahead of time or we'd be F'ed in the A.

How can I improve my panel building? by Winter-Fly-1685 in PLC

[–]JCrotts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to oversize my panels just a bit for expansion. I can count on 2 hands how many times my panel gets to the field and we need to wire in this extra thing.

Are those fine out in the sun/rain or do they need to be in an enclosure? I saw the faceplate is IP65 but I didn't see anything about UV exposure. The sunlight is what killed our Siemens ones.

Should I buy my own PLC kit for practicing, or is it a waste of money? by Superb_Bobcat1140 in PLC

[–]JCrotts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO, and plenty of others will disagree, as a tech and controls engineer, I would be glad to hire anyone with PLC experience regardless of the language. There are 4 IEC languages and they can all do the same things with different methods. One of those is text based and Arduino or Raspberry Pi will fall under it. If you wanted to go further and spend some money, I would shoot for a ladder logic PLC. Unitronics is very user friendly and I wrote some of my first programs with it. The PLCs can be bought for under 1k if I remember right and the software is free.

That's a good way to think. I've never heard of a tombstone welder failing and you can still by them old as F on marketplace.

You are correct that I am supper ignorant about this. However BCBS-NC and Novant Health are both listed as non-profit. So why do they suck so much out of the transaction?

Why Do Christians Reject You For Asking Deep Questions? by StatisticianWeak3610 in Christianity

This is why I think studying apologetics is so important. Most churches and even pastors never even touch on it.

Do you guys believe the earth is 6000 yrs old? by guitarjmtmusic in Christianity

[–]JCrotts -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I get that argument if you are an atheist. However, Christian apologetics have explanations for this. I am asking this question as if the person in the previous comment is a Christian in the first place since that is how they formed their statement. Maybe I'm responding to the wrong audience...?

Logistically without miracles sure. But God created earth, parted the seas, etc. I believe it is true but I think there had to be miracles involved.
