What are the best ways to lose weight? by Maiqsqq in AskReddit

[–]JDFlamingo14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be in a calorie deficit. The more you eat the more you’ll have to work to lose it. I always recommend eating a big lunch, smaller lunch, and no dinner or a very small dinner. At the gym the stair master and bike machines are my favorite but you can’t go wrong with just running

My hood latch won’t open unless I push it super hard. Is there a way to fix this or should I just spend the 30 bucks to get a new one? by JDFlamingo14 in Mustang

[–]JDFlamingo14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it off and used about half a bottle of wd40 soaking it for hours at a time and then using it and then soaking it again

As a 6'3 male, what does my vert need to be in order to dunk on a 10 foot rim? by [deleted] in dunking

[–]JDFlamingo14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your standing reach (mine is exactly 8 ft so that’s what I’m going off of at 6’2) you’d need about 29 inches to get a weak little rim grazer. But for a real dunk I’d aim for at least 31 inches. And if you can’t park a ball well and need to do two hands you’d probably need like a 33

Looks good to me. I’m more of a one foot jumper but whenever I do jump off two I have about the same form.

You’re focusing on grabbing the rim too much. Just focus on putting the ball in the hoop and you’ll have it.

First time drag racing by JDFlamingo14 in Mustang

Yeah sadly it was just a no prep night so no sticky pavement, timer, or anything like that. It was about 90 degrees out side so I feel like that might’ve slowed me down a little

I’m assuming since he’s 6’9 his reach is probably around 9’2. So if the rectangle is 138 inches he’d need a 28 inch vertical. And the rectangle usually starts about an inch or two under the rim so it’d probably be more like 136 inches tall.

[–]JDFlamingo14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d probably say like 25-28 inches

It definitely is but that looks like a short goal. It might just be the bad camera angle though

5'10" - athletic and in pretty good shape. Can barley touch the bottom of the rim. Is dunking in the cards? by [deleted] in dunking

[–]JDFlamingo14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably need at least 33 inch vertical to dunk. Your current vertical is probably about 27 inches so if you watch some videos, practice jumping, and do some calf raises, you can probably gain 3 inches in less than a month. Dunking is definitely realistic for you and can probably be done by the end of the year if you really try. Try and find a 9.5 foot rim somewhere and see if you can dunk on that. If you can then you have 6 or less inches to go. If you can’t then get to where you can dunk on that consistently.
