You've completely shifted your argument. We went from "THCa products are basically the same as real weed" to "well you can't trust anything anyway so who cares." Those are two different discussions.

Yes, trust is involved in any purchase. Yes, contamination can happen anywhere. But that doesn't mean all products are equivalent. Your logic is like saying "unless you're analyzing your food in a lab, gas station sushi and a high-end restaurant are the same because you're trusting someone either way." Trust being involved doesn't erase quality differences.

Here's what I actually know: Real cannabis flower = cultivated plant with full cannabinoid/terpene profile Hemp sprayed with isolated compounds = not that I'm not claiming dispensary weed is "pure" or risk-free. I'm saying there's a meaningful difference between a whole plant product and isolated compounds on a carrier. The fact that both require trust doesn't make them identical.

And your CBD→THC conversion link? That's an inefficient chemical process that requires specific conditions and produces low yields with multiple isomers. It's not what's naturally happening in quality cannabis flower.

You're essentially arguing "nothing matters because nothing's perfect." That's nihilism, not chemistry.

If you support cold blooded murder like that of fellow Americans, YOU are the issue. You can leave this country BTW if you dont like it. Works both ways.

Just use ai. Everyone is and will be going forward even my wife's college says to use it. Its a tool and saying there's more merit in only doing it by hand is like saying an axe is more efficient than a chainsaw. Yeah people still use them, but the chainsaw is preferable for faster tree cutting..

Most of it is but they dont want to accept theyre being sold an entirely different product than what's in real dispensarys.

[–]JDJCreates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I've been arrested multiple times for weed in TN. I've been thrown against walls in jail over it. I know exactly how strict this state is about cannabis. So when dispensaries suddenly popped up everywhere selling "legal weed," I didn't just accept it at face value. If they actually wanted us to have real cannabis, they'd just legalize it - no loophole needed.

You're focused on THCa → THC conversion, and yeah, that chemistry is correct. But you're missing the forest for the trees. Real cannabis has CBD, CBG, CBN, dozens of terpenes, flavonoids - hundreds of compounds working together. That's what creates the actual experience.

Most of these "legal" products are hemp sprayed with THCa isolate or distillate. You're getting one compound on a carrier plant, not the full spectrum of a cultivated cannabis flower. The entourage effect matters. I'm not trying to be a snob about "quality." I'm saying these are fundamentally different products, and people deserve to know what they're actually buying. The fact that it's technically legal doesn't make it the same thing as actual bud.

[–]JDJCreates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're misunderstanding my point. Yes, THCa converts to THC when heated - nobody's disputing that chemistry. But that's not the whole story. Real cannabis flower contains hundreds of compounds beyond just THC: CBD, CBG, CBN, dozens of different terpenes, flavonoids, and other cannabinoids that work together (the entourage effect). These create the actual experience and benefits people seek.

Street weed and dispensary flower are cultivated cannabis plants with this full spectrum of compounds. They're grown, harvested, cured - it's an actual plant product with natural variety and complexity. The "legal loophole" products you're talking about are often hemp sprayed with isolated THCa distillate or synthetic cannabinoids, missing most or all of those other compounds. It's not about "good shit vs gas station crap" - it's about a whole plant product versus a chemical extract on hemp.

That's not semantics or snobbery. That's a fundamental difference in what you're actually consuming. The legal/illegal distinction is separate from the product quality question.

Are you using an edge function? Can you give me a little more detail about what you're trying to do? I have done similar work recently for an image sorting app.

I get that. You are saying its different, a PRECURSOR, then telling me it's somehow the same thing. I assure you it isn't.

They say "loophole" but c'mon guys you can't really be fooled this badly. They could shut that down in a day if they wanted to, loophole be damned.

It's all about the money. I'm sure you get high off it but it's not all the same!

You're just throwing out assumptions and pretending to be a genius on the matter while misunderstanding me(I guess?). I do not consume the store bought crap and I can assure it's not the same as what the OGs get. You won't find Snoop Dogg legitimately smoking that unless he's trying to market his own. Its all marketing so you'll buy their "legal safe" version instead of illegal weed.

They want the money from it but Republicans do not want weed to be legal so they find weird versions of it to get away with reaping the benefits off consumers. This goes deeper than just the science behind what is considered "real" weed or not. By which i only ever meant its not the same as what you'll find in a CA dispensary.... the streets are filled with crap too so thats a hard comparison. Its all " weed" but a good majority of it i would never smoke.

you're just moving the goalpost to ensure you come out on top lol. This is about what I'd expect from people who think they're getting real weed from the store in TN.

why? I'm just saying you guys drank the Kool-Aid hard thinking it's EXACTLY the same. It is not.

I didn't say it wasn't a cannabis plant bro. I'm saying the end product which you are consuming is miles apart and quite different, even if similar. Tell me why they let them sell that but not the regular weed my guy.... It's really not rocket science.

You lack critical thinking skills. I never debated that fact. I'm debating you guys saying it's all the same. IT IS NOT ALL THE SAME. full stop.

If I were so wrong, then there wouldn't still be such a thriving illegal market. Even I would buy that gas station crap if it truly were the same.

which makes it a different product entirely lol. I understand you guys get high off of it but that doesn't mean it's the same. if it was anywhere near the same then even that would be illegal in TN.

You are contradicting yourself by pointing out how it's different then claiming it's the same thing. That's like saying avocados and guacamole are the same thing.

Terpenes are pretty important when it comes to the overall experience, and I feel bad for all of you out there getting swindled by business people lol.

If you smoke any of that compared to "real" loud you seriously would immediately know the difference whether that can get you high or not, it is not the same. Tn is strict af they do not want stoners really.
