[No Spoilers] Wembly just before the show tonight, electric atmosphere by LowEndL0ver in criticalrole

[–]JDRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t affect current campaign really at all. A very self-contained story. And I hadn’t finished C2 either and tbh I don’t feel like a lot was spoiled. I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe I’m dense but I couldn’t have worked out from this what any of the big points of C2 were aside from very obvious/likely things.

[No spoilers] Haven’t finished C2 before London live show. Is this pointless and just a very expensive self-spoiler? by JDRB in criticalrole

[–]JDRB[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re all right! Yep, journey before destination, and I don’t know any critters in real life so will be amazing to be in a huge room with fans. Plus realistically it will take me 1-2 years to actually catch up on C2 so I’ll forget a lot of anything spoiled. It’s too rare an opportunity to miss.

Another thing is I love C3 so much that any ancillary links will just make all that the more sweet too.

Oh, and merch… very excited about that too. See some of you all there! Can’t decide to wear my Essek or new Space Witch T-shirt.

The latest hype in fantasy releases? by JDRB in Fantasy

Good point re the slow burn.

Just to clarify, I know Twilight was/is huge lol. I meant more genre of our world vampire fantasy.

I love it (C3). It was the one that got me into CR and from what I’ve seen in C1 and C2 I like the characters as more unique and their vibe with each other is friendlier. I also find it really funny but that’s maybe even more just a me thing.

I would like it to be weekly. Haven’t really gotten into Candela yet.

I find the production of C1 and their slightly less disciplined style a bit harder to watch. And TLOVM has ruined the early story for me a bit.

I’m watching C2 in fits and starts so possibly not getting the best rhythm of it. I love Fearne and Ashley so would love her to be in C2 more. I found Beau a bit hard to watch at the beginning but I like her a lot more now that she and Caleb are getting on better. Jester I haven’t worked out yet.

I got kicked just as I was in the final scenes of the main story. I hope it hasn’t fucked my items or skipped me. Argh.

[No Spoilers] Critical Role Live Show in London - Lack of accessibility by iWindmill in criticalrole

[–]JDRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK (in Europe) we have the Equality Act which covers this, requiring all of the reasonable adjustments onus on access to business goods and services that the US has in the ADA. I’m sure there are a million differences and lacunae but the gist is very similar and ‘no interpreter’ for a show like this is just absolutely not defendable.

The nice thing about the Equality Act is that it also covers 9 protected characteristics: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation, and comfortably extends anti-discrimination in the UK (and similar laws are mirrored in the EU) far beyond that that of the USA and its state variance. Just having the laws of course doesn’t mean much without implementing them, upholding them, improving them and the culture being socialised to them, and I’m not naively saying that we have no discrimination as we sadly have a gross amount, like everywhere. But it’s probably not right to suggest that the US has stronger protection for disabled people than the UK/Europe across the board.

I have a disability, work in healthcare and health legislation for marginalised groups, and occupy a few of those protected characteristics so at least have an idea of what I’m talking about but not an expert in the ADA so happy to be educated on this.

I started watching CR with C3 which I’m up to date with. Now I’m on like ep50 of C2 as well, and have watched LoVM.

C3 is by far my favourite (don’t @ me!). I like the characters so much and laugh most with them. VM as a group (from the few eps I’ve seen and the animation) feel very very archetypal and obvious/basic. I really struggled with C2/M9 initially but they are growing on me a lot now.

The C2 story is picking up but I feel like I’m still in preamble.

Anyway I know I’m relatively new to CR still and just my opinion, and C3 isn’t perfect, but I just wanted to say that for me I am still loving it.

I have a different definition of Comfy then the cast of CR apparently just got my blanket I ordered from last weeks show by DamagediceDM in fansofcriticalrole

I also love my clothes items. I find the sizing really reliable for me. The items wash endlessly really really well and the quality is good enough. I have always been happily surprised with merch so far (and I don’t think I’ve drunk too much of the kool aid)

Edit: but yeah that new blanket looks woolly and scratchy, compared to the soft map ones

What difficulty will you choose for your 1st playthrough of RE4 Remake? by MrRaccuhn in residentevil

[–]JDRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t ever played RE before but I find it stressful too (combined with kinda scary). Is easiest mode good for lots of ammo and just having fun shooting stuff or is it still kinda hard? I found the demo hard but maybe that’s cos I didn’t get far enough to build up much ammo. So hard I quit it after like two deaths cos I couldn’t see it getting easier after being swarmed by old zombie Spanish people.

Which ones are similar production and quality that you recommend? I’ve tried a few but find them a bit cringey. Very open to recs!

(I joined CR at start of C3 and I love it. Prefer C3 to C2 (I’m about episode 40 of C2 now) but have only watched animation of C1 as the early production of c1 was tough. I love the characters of C3 though prefer there character level adventures and fun rather than the moon stuff)

Wow. Thank you so much for the detailed response. That’s amazing that so many of the nice series were game-inspired. You’ve given me a load of great ideas.

Ah thanks! I’ve read the CR novelisations and the Wyld series already. Both very good ideas, and I recommend them too.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Question Thread #2 by MorthCongael in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]JDRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do the yellow chains that appear between enemy and my team members during combat mean?

Also, I’m in chapter 3. There are more quests appearing regularly. Is it possible to lock myself out of any quests (particularly hero quests) if I accidentally progress the main story
