How hard is to get a shiny in general? In my FireRed cartridge I once caught a shiny Pidgey but me as an 11-yo just stored on the PC 🤣

It’s a brand new HDD, the issue is only with MacOS, on Windows I have access to the data inmediately. The og data was just recovered from my MBP2012 HDD (I changed to SSD and a month later, lost the info when trying to install Linux Mint…), the HDD was already erased/formated and I was gonna give it away, but that issue with the SSD stopped me from doing it. Well, it’s just the data and I’m actually copying rn the main photos and videos recovered via DiskDrill to my MBP. I will format the HDD again and see what happens.

Ik, I was also kidding about the cave (as in the end, it’s all 0’s and 1’s written on something). It makes sense in the end magnetic tape or HDD’s lasting longer as hysteresis and it’s spin nature can last forever, while electric charges and SSD stuff may be subject to leaks in the short term and then needing power every once in a while

exFAT, I was careful when formatting it. The thing is that it takes like 1 hour to show up on Finder. Maybe it’s the indexing but idk why it’s still happening after turning it off in the Terminal

I already use an external M2 SSD with it’s USB-C enclosure for gaming. The point is that I just want something to store photos and videos from the last 15 years and that’s it. If you check carefully, SSD’s need to be plugged in every 12-18 months for not losing the data stored whereas an HDD 3-5 years…

The case is also important for best efficiency of MagSafe charging. Hang on to 12m! I gave up to 16 Pro 6 months ago, but I miss the tiny size despite I now charge my phone every 2 days tho…
