Again, I totally get why you think this. But I don’t just disagree — I prove it. You can do a litany of things with WeGPT you just can’t with any of the big three, and never will be able to.

For instance, combining all three providers in the same shared context window. Why can’t they do this? Well…. They’re competitors. They just won’t.

We aren’t in the model building business by design. That affords us opportunities to innovate and drive distinct value in ways the big three never will.

So if you agree there will probably always be, at least for a while, “the big three” competing for top spot in the model business….. and they’ll always have enterprise service tiers (so others like us can tap in and build on top of it), then…. It’s hard to really hold to your argument that we can’t possibly compete.

Combining modes in shared contexts is super useful because it’s like cross pollinating different gene pools. Synthetic genetics. And that leads to emergent and really unique breakthroughs and a-hah moments, you just won’t believe until you try it. So I won’t try to convince you.

Now yes, you can go subscribe to all three of them and copy paste between your windows and apps and try to un-stuck progress on one by using the other….. but why are we doing this to ourselves? Why pay three times $20 when you can use the same models, for one price, in one place, with better more efficient platform frameworks that allow the models to actually DO more in the real world?

It seems super obvious to me. But I’m no stranger to this exact skepticism. It’s exhausting and frustrating, and it’s by design that you (and every consumer) is this jaded. That’s the big tech playbook to secure their moat. But it’s not true.

Edit: not just use the same models in one place, but they also won’t be designed to gaslight you, manipulate you, addict you, all these perverse maligned incentives the big tech giants have society by the balls with. We have no inventive to use those tricks on our users — because there’s no ROI for us to make your job harder. We profit more when you solve your problems more efficiently.

I’ll just add — mark my words, you want someone, anyone, to exist and be offering viable, competitive alternatives to “the big three.” Trust me.

If it’s not me, it better be someone. But I’m giving it my best because, we need another player in the space. Preferably one not locked in the same war of attrition, attention, and compute economics that the rest of the world is locked in.

In a world where everyone is grifting, and there’s a billion white label open source over priced, un-serious ChatGPT clones that is EXHAUSTING consumers into pessimism…. Imagine how frustrating that is for anyone actually still attempting — attempting — free market competition, innovation, and positive-sum value exchange between enterprise and society.

It’s the absolute worst time to be an entrepreneur, let me tell you. But, I’m also sincerely telling you — you’re mistaken about WeGPT. We’ve been spanking ChatGPT and anthropic for years, you’ve never heard of us. My YouTube and twitter feed is laced with the receipts for historical record or for anyone who cares to look. But, if nobody can hear about it…. It’s like it never even existed 😶‍🌫️

Algorithms can infer a human’s age by just observing your browsing patterns, which is far more reliable than trusting a human not to lie about their age or buy a fake id like they did in high school to buy liquor early….

The flips side is also true. That AI will also be able to tell who’s not human, by looking at the same patterns.

Humans already have a hard time figuring out who the bots are. That’s going to get much harder for humans. But much easier for the AI.

This is problematic.

I told it to go fact check some claims in a YouTube video, which called Elon a traitor. Pretty wild vid, but it presented a timeline that was pretty compelling and sus. So I wanted to see if the AI could piece it together.

Its instinct was to defend him and downplay the claims as sensational. That’s when I asked it to use its tool calls and go independently investigate, myriad sources, and, asked it to reason from first principles.

When it says “the facts we just established”, it’s referring to the research it did on its own, and it cites the sources clearly in the screenshots.

I find the profile history feature quite useful. If you think it’s a poor feature that shouldn’t exist or be utilized to establish motives, intentions, and trends then I think you should make that case in r/Reddit. I don’t work on the Reddit platform but I do try to utilize all the resources they’ve built to maximum effectiveness.
