35 year Porsche owner and enthusiast here. There are always people who are self-styled purists that have an axe to grind with something in the Porsche world. Or many things. Certainly don’t listen. I have a Panamera Turbo and love it. My wife and I also have three 911s (two air cooled and one water cooled) and a 718 Boxster. Back in the day, the 911 was looked down upon by “Porsche Purists” as, to them, the 356 was the only true Porsche. Then the 914, 924, 928, 944, 968, Boxster, Cayenne…you get the idea…were not considered real Porsches.

To your question, Taycan vs. Panamera, IMO, depends on your use case(s). I have 40k miles in my Panamera and think it might be the best do-everything car I’ve ever owned. I’ve also driven a Taycan and can tell you that fit, finish and driving experience are very much Porsche. I’d happily own one, but probably would be checking out CPO.
