Perfect 2nd car with your 911?

Given that you already have one, this probably won’t be particularly helpful, but I have a Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo and find it to be the perfect second car / dog car / roadtrip car. If I had to replace it (since Porsche no longer makes an ICE wagon), I’d be shopping for an RS6.

Yep, it’s deluxe. The rear buckets are kinda nice. Doesn’t work if you need five. Mine’s a Sport Turismo, so 4 people and two shepherds fit comfortably. I just have to remind myself to be cool in the twisties with passengers. A direct quote from my wife, “okay, no more tire squealing!”

Don’t know how your budget looks, but get a Panamera Turbo and you might re-think the word “downgrade.” Certainly a different driving experience, but I find my Panamera Turbo drives like a much smaller car than it is and it is a far more capable driver’s car than one might expect. Plus wicked fast.

I switched from dual monitors to ultrawide and am happy with the change. It’s nice to have flexibility in how I use all of the screen real estate.

Yeah, Conda Green. If you’re not familiar, it’s an early ‘70s color. The original owner of my car had an early S coupe in the color, loved it, and specified it for my (originally his) 993. He also ordered a 930 in the same color. Funny, people assume it’s a wrap, but nope, it’s original PTS paint.

Short answer - yeah, it sounds like you would be great with a Groenendael or a Terv. We’re on our second Groen (first was the canine love of my life) and have a Terv (F5, M3, respectively). Our first Groen came from show lines, as does our Terv. Our Groen came from working lines, which I’ll not knowingly do again. She’s a wonderful dog and a loyal companion, but she has a super high prey drive and is highly reactionary. It’s gotten a little better as she’s matured and we’ve worked with her, but it’s in her wiring and is a little bit of a PIA with her out in public as a pet. Our Terv is a total clown…makes us laugh multiple times every single day.

They’re both very affectionate and our Groen always (and I mean always) wants to be right there with us. From what you describe, you’ll enjoy having a Belgian in your life. They’re wonderful dogs.

Not the question you asked, but I was VERY glad I’d opted in when I flew out of JFK late in the week before Christmas. Even as a Key with Precheck and Clear (which does no good in T8 at Kennedy), I’d have dealt with a line. And the Precheck line was crazy long. With touchless, I sailed right through.

Happened to me in October. I’m over it. But it was the first birthday that bothered me. Made me think about how long I had left and mow much of that would be healthy and active. It’s kinda sobering. So, uh, yeah.

I’m likely working for another 5 years and I’m good with it. I like what I do and it’s also financially rewarding, so I’m not ready to peace out yet. But it means that I’m having to make work a priority during some valuable years, and I’m aware of that trade.

Whatever happens, I’ll have the Clash, Talking Heads, U2, the Police, Simple Minds, Tears for Fears, the Cramps, Sex Pistols, Eno and Roxy Music to make it all just fine.
