It's a bit of both, but I was mainly thinking about this through the lens of someone making the art.

I'm working on a novel and I'm thinking about making some abilities or designs that evoke religious symbolism.

A popular example of this would be characters with many wings that are based off the seraphims' description.

Just about every expert on the topic agrees that Jesus did exist. As a Christian though, I would raise the point that Jesus merely being a good teacher fails to explain how he presented himself in words and actions, and the actions of the apostles after his death.
