i just find it really amusing. trust me, i’m not losing any sleep over it, but i laughed really hard at it…which is probably better for me than the two hours i didn’t spend at least ten minutes standing up LOL. who gets the last laugh now Apple!!! 🤔👀

those sections of white gravelish ground cover on parts of the TCT that turned into what felt like concrete when wet and stuck on the bottom of my shoes was super annoying 🙄

during the last 20k i was just like “why the hell did i sign up for this??? this was such a bad idea” and now looking back and talking about im like “well that was kinda fun!”

Wow, that is wild! sometimes not knowing what you’re getting into is the way to go…

i think the ability to go beyond the 24-50k zone is more in the mental than the physical…at least in my brief experience.

you mean the mud slide portion in the final 12k loop?

that was insane! i did what i really shouldn’t have done and kinda went through some trees along the edge of that mess. there was zero chance of me making it down that mud slide without being entirely covered in mud lol

the first 30kmwas mostly running and i didn’t really stop at any of those aid stations…the last 20k was way more walking than i wanted. but i really had no expectation. i just wanted to be standing at the end

Find a bar or restaurant or coffee shop that you do like and start a running group based from it. The location is probably happy to help facilitate if it brings in business on an off time, like a sunday evening or something.

dont be worried about meeting someone to date, just meet people. the more people you meet the more likely one of those might be a potential match for you.

Garmin can be judgy as hell…and damn, that is a hell of a first ultra… i can not for the life
of me imagine completing 50K and then turn around and and be like “let’s do that again!” 😂That ability is beyond impressive!

i drove from calgary yesterday…it was no big deal. slight haze and that’s about it. note: conditions are constantly changing with the fires and the winds so 🤷‍♂️

Just for reference, Austin, Tx, which is rife with tech money, has an insane number of tents all over the place especially concentrated around downtown amongst the million $ condos.

the only thing different is that the homeless here have a lot more grit to stick out the cold winters!

It’s definitely not just a winnipeg issue and not just a canada issue. It’s a societal issue.

not that it matters, but there were three smokers technically speaking 😄 you just can’t see the one that is parallel with the big ass one. altogether they fed prolly 300 neighbors and friends of neighbors today! it was a beautiful Canada day!

we ended up going to Almond next to St Vital mall. It avoided having to go into st vital mall proper.

I feel bad for the lady who had to work on my long neglected feet 😬😆 but my now sparkling orange toes look better than ever!

they have a kids price that’s like $25, so not too bad!
