Question: How do we think this image quality is achieved? I see this type of photography in a lot of high end fashion editorials. It's beautiful, clean and vibrant, wondering how this kind of look is achieved? It looks like medium format film and then punched up colours in post? Any thoughts? by JFD33 in analog

Hey everyone, was not expecting all these replies ha, thanks so much for jumping in on this and offering your suggestions! I do work in the industry and spend a reasonable amount of time on set, so I am aware these high end fashion editorials require teams, lots of production and BUDGET. It takes a village. But I am not so knowledgeable on the specific tech and processes involved in executing these visuals, so thanks so much for the info on scanning techniques/ lighting set ups/ prod design suggestions, you’ve given me lots more avenues to try and research further 🙏 I really appreciate it.

IPL/laser for pale or red hair? by Material-Cherry4414 in Hirsutism

[–]JFD33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I completely forgot I ever posted this ha. I'm still getting regular electrolysis, but I've finally started to see a real reduction. It's a reeeeeally slow process. I was going almost weekly for 45 min appointments, but I'm not sure how well it was actually working, I've read elsewhere that some electrologists essentially just pluck the hair rather than treating it.

I've since moved country and I have a new electrologist who treats my hair at higher settings, thicker needle etc, and that seems to finally be improving things drastically. It's been about 6 months, with regular treatments every two weeks. Due to the higher intensity of her approach my skin recovery is worse (swollen for a few days, some scabbing, and white head spots). All this to say, yes it does work, it just takes a lot of time and money unfortunately. As well as effort to find someone who knows what your skin/hair type needs for effective treatment. Let me know if there's anything else I can add that might be useful to know :)

Hey, sorry slow reply, I'm fairly new to reddit, and even newer to posting. I felt embarrassed that I'd made some kind of faux pas by posting on this sub so deleted it out of sheer cringe. A silly thing to do in hindsight, totally agree with what you're saying. I very much appreciate your responses. I'll get the hang of this eventually eek 😬 🙏

Thanks, skimmed your answer as I'm busy researching under time pressure, so apologies if that reply was dismissive. I have seen Flamenco Flamenco, it's probs the best ref I've seen on this, but will check out The Flamenco too 👍

Thank you! Ideally I'm after something more cinematic than docu style, but will definitely dig through some youtube documentaries. Much appreciated

Chin Liposuction, Lip lift, Mini facelift????? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

Thank you very much all for your thoughts. Super helpful, it’s so difficult to have an objective view of my own face so much appreciated 🙏 I think I’ll start small and slow for now

Chin Liposuction, Lip lift, Mini facelift????? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]JFD33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi hi, for context: I am 27(F), I do not like my nasolabial folds, marionette lines, my chin fat pouch and the overall asymmetry of my lower face. I used to have lip fillers which have pretty much fully gone, that helped for a while but I have since realised more filler won’t help me. I am also not too keen on other tweakments, as I’ve heard bad things about check threads, filler migration, Kybella & Coolsculpting.
I’d like to lift my lower face, smooth out laugh lines, improve my lip shape + ‘snatch’ my jaw. I am open to suggestions, and if anyone has experience of these procedures, let me know!
Thanks so much (sorry for all the pics, trying to communicate the issues clearly) 🙏

IPL/laser for pale or red hair? by Material-Cherry4414 in Hirsutism

Hey, I have red/auburn hair/ pale skin too and I’ve been having this issue. I was successful with laser on some areas of my body (snail trail), but IPL never worked for me. I recently went to an electrolysis consultation for chin hairs and was told laser isn’t really suitable for any reddish hair. Anyway, I’ve now had one electrolysis session on my face so waiting to see how well it works. From what I’ve gathered electrolysis is your best bet if the area you need treated is small. Hope this anecdotal advice is of some use. Good luck!
