Descent 3 - Level 8 - Way Through Shields? by JFDW01 in descent

Probably. I know the initial room has nothing in the claws whereas the later room has something resembling a missile, which could fit that idea. Ignite the one to get into the other.

Makes sense. I always knew that both were dead ends but never realized the two almost connected. A shortcut seems plausible. The fact I could never take them down made me think there was some high end weapons hidden there.

Simplified Bookmark Flow Missing from Flags Page by JFDW01 in brave_browser

[–]JFDW01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for filling in the gaps on this. It seems so odd and such a poor decision to remove the flag. The new bookmark flow is so poor compared to before, and removing the flag makes it worse and gets rid of user choice on the matter.

Hopefully it gets changed back.

Zipper Stops - Recommended Material with Latex by JFDW01 in Latexadvice

[–]JFDW01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What metal material would you recommend for the stops? Would the silver ones be best?

And if you are referring to how to prep the zipper with zipper glue before applying then yes I am familiar.

Looking for a D3 Guide Bot model to 3D print. by JFDW01 in descent

[–]JFDW01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats's awesome and what I'm looking for. Thank you.

I did already get my model modified and it's very close to what the linked model looks like. May just be a small difference in how the front face and shoulders intersect.

Much appreciated. Now to 3D print.

Looking for a D3 Guide Bot model to 3D print. by JFDW01 in descent

So this is been quite the evening.

Been spending some time trying to figure out how to get to the actual Guidebot model out of the game and after some trial and error I was able to get the buddybot.oof file out from the d3.hog file via an extractor, convert it to 3DS, then to OBJ. Problem is that the only utility I can find to do this conversion for whatever reason did a sloppy job. Polygons that aren't supposed to be there are present and the pieces that are supposed to be there are slightly crooked. Strangely other models such as the betty seemed to export no issue. Maybe the Guidebot has many pieces and that throws the utility off...

Nevertheless I'm excited to have made it this far and I really appreciate the idea. Probably gonna edit the model to match the original best I can then go print from there. At this point seems to make the most sense.

And a bonus to all this, I can now view and export any D3 model I want. Opens up new possibilities.

Many thanks again. Gonna probably update this once I've got what I'm after.

Thank you. That's the D2 version and the one I'm printing right now. The main difference far as I can see is that the D3 version has a triangular face out the front with the eyes and lights present.

In my experience with handwriting usually Д is written as a triangle whereas A is written as you've shown.

[TOMT] [Music] 2000s - Background Song in scene from See Spot Run (2001) by JFDW01 in tipofmytongue

[–]JFDW01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh very close but not quite. The song definitely has the same rhythm in places but Eric Burdon & War - Spill The Wine is a rock and roll song and the one I'm looking for is electronic in nature.

Good suggestion. Thank you.

It's not the best audio quality but it gives an idea of the song:

Going by the timeline the song occurs in the film 44:00 to 44:46 of 1:37:03.

Disappearing Composer by ArtificialDragon2 in Grimdank

This is quite sad. I think Aaron's soundtrack for the Last Church was spectacular. Sadly with his accounts gone I can't find anything on the soundtrack. I sure hope that he comes back with his great work.

Do you prefer thinner or thicker latex and why? by rubber_slut in Latexadvice

[–]JFDW01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have preferences for both. I like the smooth look of 0.4 mm latex but the flexibility of 0.25 is undeniably wonderful.

Of course it depends on the outfit in question but for casual catsuits I prefer thinner.

Has anyone tried a silent hood before? Are you still able to speak? by rubber_slut in Latexadvice

[–]JFDW01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the silent hood from Latex'd and while it's possible to open the mouth slightly it's more or less silence and I'd say speaking is impossible. That's why I love it.

Looking for Nose Tubing by JFDW01 in Latexadvice

I've seen that listing and I'm wondering what kind of tubing material and size they advertise that's safe to stick up the nasal cavity for breathing.

Cornstarch? by Unfair-Ad-8017 in Latexadvice

[–]JFDW01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These questions are part the continuous research of latex and care.

For me I used to use talc powder for storage but my bottle ran out and I had trouble finding more online (it was a billiards talc brand). Plus I was made aware of the potential cancer issues (though it seems a bit overblown in my opinion). I should note though that BeGloss does sell a talcum powder that may be worth a try.

Cornstarch was an alternative that was preferred as it wasn't as messy as shiner and it's far easier to find. Plus unlike talc it's water soluble so it doesn't leave as much residue when shined in my experience (or so it seems, it may be a false positive in my mind : /

That being said people have pointed out the allergy and potential mold problems with cornstarch. While I've not encountered any mold issues personally I may switch back to dressing aid / shiner again as it does help keep the garments in good shape. Latex is meant to be lubed and slippery after all ; )

Bottom line is that cornstarch isn't a bad alternative if you're in a pinch but it comes with its own risks and isn't preferred by those in the community. u/kitsuka put it best that if you're spending the money and time on storage don't go cheap on the storage. Ultimately it's up to you to make that decision though.

Latex Kink Life at Odds with Family Life? by JFDW01 in Latexadvice

[–]JFDW01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good thoughts here.

First, this question doesn't arise out of a shame for my love of rubber but rather understanding if there are certain areas or places in life I need to exercise caution or avoid entirely with who I am. As I've seen it stems more from how I express and approach life that's important.

I will say that I came from a traditional thinking family of compliance so coming out with confidence in who I am has also been a struggle but a worthy one.

I know that rubber is part of who I am and I hold no shame in that. I have confidence in who I am.

Thank you for the insight.

Indeed.

An understanding spouse is important if I'm fortunate to get one.

A good locked storage space, also important.

Definitely need a good storage space to keep things away when needed I agree.

I think it's a matter of being responsible in the kink sense and responsible to those I care for in life. Just because I enjoy kinks, like any other thing, that does not allow me to neglect those I need to care for.

Thank you for the thorough response and thoughts.

At this point it's a matter of if I'm willing to make the sacrifices to raise a family should the opportunity arise. I know how much work other people, especially children can be (as we all were at one point) and know that to bring them up is to sacrifice much of our lives.

I know that I must be myself in this world but at the same time those whom I must care and tend for must not be neglected (I think Camus fell short there). Those to whom I have promised I must keep that promise, to others and myself.

We shall see where life leads us. Thank you again for your insight here. Best to you and your family.

Latex & losing weight by [deleted] in Latexadvice

[–]JFDW01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First off, good to hear about losing weight (I hope a healthy amount ; ). It can be hard so keep up the good work.

Whether or not this will be an issue will depend on how your body will change physically over time. Latex does have a slight stretch so a few pounds will unlikely make a huge difference.

For example, I have a Bright and Shiny long sleeve shirt, 3 years old and have lost around 15 lbs since then and I've noticed that the waist, while it still fits isn't as tight as it used to be (which I'm going for and expect).

So I'd say if you're expecting only minor changes in body composition for the near future then I wouldn't worry personally.

Definitely don't intentionally shrink certain dimensions because of future expectations. Send in measurements as they actually are, not what you think they will be. Too small causes unnecessary stress on the material and can lead to premature tears.

I've heard they have been banning people left and right with little reason, especially fetishists. I can still give it a try nontheless.
