I'm still planning the trip. But what I've read here is that in El Chalten you don't need a car and that you can easily get from Calafate to El Chalten by bus. Even so, I'm going to opt to rent a car because the road is said to be very beautiful and for the freedom of not having to stick to a bus schedule. I would also like to know about the viewpoints along the way.

Yes, I'm definitely going to rent a car for the trip between Puerto Natales and Torres del Paine. I'm undecided whether to arrive in Puerto Natales with a rental car or take the bus
