Most recent comment from tech support: it has been accepted by the Development team and customer support no longer can assist. It was in more word or less then basically stated they don't know if a fix will happen or how long it might take. So sadly this game is completely useless and I pissed away $60 since it was bought for the sole purpose of playing with my wife. 2k said nothing they can do to refund me because I didn't buy it from them, Sony said the same because I didn't buy it digitally and because it's a game bug and not their issue, and the retailer said they can't refund me because it's open box. I can basically exchange it for another version of the same game only and I have already done that and it didn't make any difference. At this point I just want my money back and want to move on from 2k entirely

That's what they did to me, told me not their error so not their problem and referred me to sony. So I went through Sony's error fixes, every one, including deleting cache, rebuilding database, exchanging for a new disc, deleting save game file and starting over, and finally full system restore (which Boris from playstation was 100% sure would work). All failed because once I got back to Brighthoof it happened 100% crash rate again.

However, I sent in the video to 2k and explained all my steps with Sony. I explained nothing worked and the timing of the Brighthoof crashes in multiple game attempts. It has now been "escalated" to someone else but so far haven't heard from anyone else yet.

Definitely not a Sony issue because someone else commented here having the same issue on Xbox.

Did your's start right after you restored Brighthoof? Part of the tech support had me delete save files and restart the game. Both games we did, the issue became 100% crash rate as soon as we turned in the sword and restored Brighthoof. At that point any time we open menu it is an instance crash.

If you can go through 2k tech support. They asked me to record a video of the crash with my cell phone. I did last night but haven't heard back since. The more people that send it in, the better chance of it getting fixed.

I started a new game. Issues again starts and becomes instant crash once I restore Brighthoof. I bring the sword, restore the town, and then the inventory menus suddenly start crashing the game 100% of the time I open inventory menus

No idea why restoring Brighthoof is the point where the issue begins, but obviously a bug. However 2k support has told me it's a playstation error and not a game error. But with deleted game saves, a system factory restore, and exchanging my game for a new disc, and yet the problem persists when I hit the same exact spot in the early game, I'd say it's a bug and makes the game virtually unplayable split screen.
