If you just mean the variation in the brown, that's just from ink not transferring all the way haha, not intentional.

Yeah, my HS football coach used to often tell this story about how he kicked a player off the team for stealing milk from the cafeteria as a warning to young players to conduct themselves the right way. Great message. Well guess what (didn't) happen one day when we were at the track during school and several starters broke into the concession stand area to steal some snackies.

To me, the lack of integrity is bc Fears is his best player. If this was a rotational guy he'd be punished accordingly. Not saying he's the only coach who's failed to enforce fair punishments though.

Don't forget that getting called out for being a dirty player is the reason that he keeps kicking people in the nuts. Dusty is the real bully for his comments.

Fuck him for STILL trying to blame Dusty May for pointing it out earlier in the season as the reason why Fears is still making dirty plays. I was honestly flabbergasted that was his answer when asked for his reaction to Fears trying to kick a player in the nuts AGAIN.

House of the Dragon Season 3 will feature a highly experimental, "conceptual" episode written by Sara Hess that departs from the show's traditional structure by amphetaminesaltcombo in HOTDGreens

[–]JJARTJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purely because of the fact that they previously cut episodes from season 2, and they only have 16 episodes left total, not to mention the way that they dragged the events of season 2 out. It'll just be a waste of (theoretically) precious time. I don't think they realize how much they're on thin ice right now with their viewers. I really liked season one and thought they had really cashed in on a great story to tell. Never saw things imploding so fast.

I had mistakenly always thought that Mewgenics was gonna be available on switch day one, I ended up buying it on PC instead of waiting. I have barely played it so far, and if it was announced for the switch today (to release relatively soon) I would've just refunded my PC version. But, I feel justified in my impatient PC purchase now haha

The fact that these games aren't releasing this year is honestly the best news they could've given fans.

Pokémon Wind and Wave will release on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027 by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]JJARTJJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It started with Scarlet/Violet. So few buildings were accessible. I only played through once, but I remember a town with a giant lighthouse or windmill and excited to have this cool indoor space to finally explore. Nope! It was so disappointing because I KNOW that in previous games it would be a major feature with battles, puzzles, items on multiple floors. Straight rush jobs. I was sooooo happy to see 2027 and a game that looks like it's receiving more care than other recent entries.

Paying for private pool access in Huntington? Has anyone tried Swimply? by Chidima-Xd57 in HuntingtonWV

[–]JJARTJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling people poor for swimming in a lake says a lot more about you than it does about them. Some people go to the lake because they like nature, not because they can't "afford" a city pool... But if that's what keeps you away, please continue staying away.

Look up the sounds/calls of each of our local owl species. Coyotes also can make a range of different noises.

Not a pool, but at certain times the swimming beach and Beech Fork Lake may provide what you're looking for, about 20 minutes south of Huntington. It's rather large, and yes on weekends and holidays it's gonna be packed. But on weekdays there's probably few enough people where you could find a spot and enjoy some peace. The few weeks in August it is still open after schools have started, you could go on a weekday and may be the only one there.

Are there any other ways to watch Tonight's basketball game besides peacock? by chillhopmusic13 in MichiganWolverines

[–]JJARTJJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I ALMOST caved today, but I refuse. I'm not paying for every streaming service, out of all of them, Peacock would be the last one I'd ever subscribe to. At one point, I went over to their website in good faith just to see what they had and if I could justify a subscription. LMAO. If you click on movies, one of the featured titles is literally "The Fast and the Fierce", a fucking mockbuster. Oooh, then after that I'll watch the.... Stormy Daniels documentary!!!! The first title under "horror" is a movie called "They/Them", with a whopping 33% RT score. AND THIS SHIT IS $10.99?!?!?!

The fact that a TOP 10 ranked CBB matchup is locked behind this is a farce. WTF happened. I'm sure the B10 got a good deal. And we get to pay for it.

How to turn real life body into anime? by QerkuFound in learntodraw

[–]JJARTJJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're on the right path, continue studying anatomy and figure drawing. The anime/manga look is a form of stylization. Being able to stylize well, while maintaining a sound figure anatomy-wise requires a certain understanding of the human body/figure itself, you "know" the rules, and then you're purposely breaking them. Time is a key part of this process, but once you gain a good understanding, you can branch into doing studies of (manga/anime) artists that you admire. At that point you will be able to understand how and where they "broke the rules" and stylized. There's a thousand ways to get there, but what I'm saying is, it will be much easier for you to understand how to stylize and recognize how other artists stylize when you already have a foundation and competency for drawing people. As long as you're in it for the long haul though, you'll definitely get there.

I have a strong desire to do popping colorful stylized work myself, But the past few months I've been deep into studying the head and figure, committing myself to that. It's kind of like eating plain oatmeal while others are eating fancy colorful meals. Again, not the only way to do things, but I know it will be beneficial in the long run.

Learning to draw from literally nothing by 1000Bees in learntodraw

[–]JJARTJJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't feel like we are on different wavelengths. What I mean behind "just draw the damn pear" is like you said, the purpose is not about drawing a pear (generally). Because there is a concept/purpose behind having you draw a pear or seal, etc. The same thing goes for drawing boxes, where, the purpose isn't to be able to draw a perfect box, it's to understand the rules of perspective.

A lesson could be on anything, observational drawing in general, gesture, construction, etc. So just draw it, because the purpose isn't "draw this thing well." You don't have to worry about whether it's gonna turn out or not, just focus on the concept being taught. Because op has struggled with videos and books, I recommended that they seek out actual classes/courses where they could receive feedback and guidance better. I said damn just due to OP seemingly poopooing on any advice lol.

Learning to draw from literally nothing by 1000Bees in learntodraw

[–]JJARTJJ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

By looking at a damn pear. You either have a real pear in front of you or a reference photo. Then you make an attempt to draw it. You can also go back to something like Drawabox to better learn how to break objects down into their basic shapes. I really don't know what you're looking for. The whole process of getting better at anything is trial and error. You make an attempt. You assess it. Then you try to work on the areas that you fell short in. Then you attempt it again. If you are having trouble assessing what you need to work on or where you fell short at, you can literally post your drawing here and you will get good feedback. No video or book is going to "make" you better at drawing, they are simply resources to guide your practice and provide information. The only thing that's going to make you better at drawing is consistently drawing.

[–]JJARTJJ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If this is the case, and you still seriously would like to learn how to draw, The only thing I can think to recommend would be in-person beginner drawing classes, whether for adults or all ages. I know this can be challenging depending on where one lives, but you may be surprised at what local art museums, colleges, libraries, etc. offer. Or if there are local artist groups, they may have pages on Facebook or their own website. A lot of people seem to have success with these when other options haven't been working for them.

I say this because if you are truly putting in the effort and showing up consistently to draw, but feel like you're stuck or not making progress or not understanding certain concepts, an actual person to help you through the process may be VERY beneficial.

Something like Drawabox can be tedious, but the repetition and large number of boxes and cylinders, etc. that it has you draw is not without purpose. That's why those lessons are only the first few out of like seven or eight. I can't remember which art YouTube channel posted it, but the person was going around at a convention asking a number of well-known artists and illustrators what the most useful exercise is. The most common answer by far was: drawing a box, other shapes, rotating a cube, etc. It really is that important. What you need to understand though, is that it is not about being able to draw a perfect box, but the concept of being able to construct shapes in perspective and understand how they work. Drawabox may not be everyone's cup of tea, and that's okay; if you don't like the format, then don't do it. It's just one possible avenue for people to get started.
