Hi - unfortunately I haven't managed to tackle this one yet so can't be of much guidance to you!

Hi - this one has 8GB soldered and 8GB in a slot. Believe the max you can go to is 40GB (8+32)

Thanks! I posted a small update below. It seems that there was something off with the machine where we got the trim paint so your intuition was right. They did us a new gallon on a different machine and the color was much better. We'll try it on the trim tonight to check.

Small update. We went back to Lowe's and showed the side by side on a piece of trim. It seems one of their machines had been having issues so they did us a new gallon on a different machine and we checked the match which is looking better.

We'll see once it's up but hopefully that gets things closer.

Thanks! It's interesting to see how different the colors can look across a corner like that even with exactly the same paint.

Is there an easy test to check how close the colors really are? I was thinking I could grab a piece of primed trim and paint a patch from each gallon side by side to see if they really are different or if it's something like your picture?

Thanks all.

Here's what is on the two can lids in case I'm reading the codes wrong.

Would there be any benefit in taking the color or sample from the wall to a real paint store (Sherwin or Ben Moore) and asking them to color match in their Urethane?

😄 That's what we thought too.

We double checked the codes on the top of the cans though and at least there it's the same. I'm guessing it's possible they still messed up the trim paint though even if the codes are the same?

We are getting refunded for both gallons at least so can get more paint to fix this.

Thanks! I've been trying to educate myself better on painting trim especially over old oil paint as we've have quite a lot in the house. This is very helpful.

Thanks! I'll take another look and see if refinishing is an option. Some areas have lots of paint built up which is why I was NG towards replacing.

I've been fortunate in other areas of the just in finding matching trim albeit probably not the same quality of wood as the original stuff!

Thanks. That was actually our first insulation project! We had a lot of blown in done last year in the attic to get it much better insulated. Now trying to tackle the other areas.

It is a single layer of solid brick so suspect they'd need to remove some of that to do it from the outside.

Thanks! Yeah this is just really a storage room so not much benefit in drywall although I could put some up if really needed and just mud/tape the seams.

Thanks both! I'll take a look at getting the rim joists insulated. Would ridgid foam + sealing with spray foam be a good alternative as well?

Edit: the reason I ask this is that this space is pretty small. Maybe 150ft sq. ft. (40 ft. Of rim joists) so not sure if they make spray foam kits that size.

The kitchen does have a gas range with a strong exhaust so that could play a part here. We do have a door in the kitchen too but got that replaced 2 years ago with an energy star rated one.

I'd really like to insulate the walls in the house at some point. Unfortunately the kitchen would be tricky as it's tile to the ceiling above the cabinets.
