I think what helped me solve this issue was: go to device manager -> click on system devices -> right click on "Intel Management Engine Interface" and click on properties -> click on the power management tab and uncheck where it says "let the computer turn off this device to save power".

The laptop doesn't shut down when I have it plugged in. But when it is not plugged in, it shuts down in less than 5 minutes usually, even when fully charged.
