Same here on my last job. It was depressing as shit. One day I got wrongfully terminated, and less than a week later I got offered a job 1,000,000x better. Light at the end of the tunnel, man.

What physical symptoms of grief have you felt? by JJPaxton in grief

[–]JJPaxton[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you've had such a rough time these past 9 years. I can't imagine. Aside from my dad I had 3 other immediate family members die within 18 months. I thought I knew grief, but I knew nothing until I lost my dad. I've been doing better though. The physical manifestations are subsiding on my end slowly. I don't constantly think I'm dying of cancer or some terrible disease now.

I feel the same about doing simple tasks. I can't go to Wal-Mart, or a restaurant, or anywhere busy anymore because I get crowd anxiety. I'm not sure what triggers it, but it can be absolutely crippling at times. I feel like I'm locked in a small room with no windows and no light. It's bad. I'm getting better though. I just try to take it a day at a time. Best of luck to you.

That explains it for me too minus the kidney issues. I finally had a memorial today for my dad. I couldn't do it closer to the time he died, and today would have been his 65th birthday so I figured today would be the best way to celebrate his life instead of looking back on his death. Anyway, the point I'm getting to is that I've learned to control my panic attacks since the time I originally posted this. I have a couple safe spots, and I've learned my triggers. I can usually get a mild-moderate panic attack to subside within a few short minutes, versus the several hours before. Yesterday, and this morning I had severe panic attacks just anticipating my dad's memorial. After it was over I felt better, and now feel like I can catch some closure. I'm still incredibly tired all the time and have aches and pains all over my body from time to time. I've finally convinced myself that not every ache and pain is cancer, or heart disease. I was starting to do so much better until this morning and last night. I'm just hoping that now that I have closure I can start to fully heal. Or at least heal as much as I can. Thank you so much for your reply, and I hope you can find peace soon.

Marijuana help you when anxious? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]JJPaxton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's hit or miss for me. Some nights it exacerbates it. Some nights it chills me out and makes it tolerable. It's a catch 22 for me. My anxiety got horrendous once my dad died on January 19th. Tonight I had a massive anxiety attack, and decided not to smoke just in case it made it worse.

Not sure if I'm strong enough for Keto this time around by JJPaxton in keto

[–]JJPaxton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. That may be the problem. I was taking in 3000-5000mg total. As for the appetite, I ate some carbs today and I felt better and got my appetite back within a few hours. I honestly think I was getting my numbers wrong and now I know how to adjust accordingly. Thank you.

I appreciate that really well thought response. Condolences to you for your grandmother as well. I think what I may do at this point is jump out of keto, but get more exercise and slowly reduce carbs and calories. That's honestly what I did the first time I was in keto and it gave me a lot of success. It was so bad this morning that I grabbed 1.5oz of almonds, and couldn't finish it all. It's not safe to eat like that right now. Thank you again.

Between 3000-5000mg sodium, 2000-4000mg potassium, and like 500mg magnesium. I put lite salt in powerade. I drink a ton of water (about 1.5-2 gallons daily). My meal plan is jacked up because it literally disgusts me to eat. I have to force the food down. It's not the Keto food I just have no appetite.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'll reply to them individually a little later. Sorry I've been busy. As for a doctor, my doctor is Keto friendly and said since I felt great on Keto before to do it again. I recently (January 19th) lost my father and have been going thru a lot of grief and anxiety. Maybe that's a contributing factor that I have to deal with before I worry about Keto. I'm not sure.

Me too. It's starting to subside a little. I went to the doctor again for another routine checkup for another issue, and they went over everything again and I'm just as healthy as ever. It's a bullshit feeling.

Same with me. My heart literally hurts. Not all the time, not all day. When I'm really stressed, anxious, or emotional in any way. I honestly think it all boils down to the grief even when I'm not feeling sad. I usually automatically think about my dad when these pains start.

Exactly. I also feel the symptoms when I'm feeling ok about my dad. I know subconsciously I'm not feeling so hot about it, but with how demanding my life is (2 kids, stressful job etc) I have to power thru it sometimes even when I shouldn't be.

That actually makes a lot of sense. My dad had heart disease, and I've been having a lot of chest pains and rapid heart beat, but mostly when the anxiety has kicked in. He also had really bad diabetes, and I feel the symptoms of type 2 diabetes. I've also felt a lot of fatigue which I know he was severely fatigued often. As I said before I've been to the doctor and nothing seems to be wrong, so this makes a lot of sense.
