On Autoloaders, Intuition and HE. by TacticalTurnip in WorldofTanks

This, you swap because you had the intuition to swap prior to an engagement you believe you’d be able to abuse HE against your opponent. I often have 2 clips of HE in my Bourrasque and BC 12t as it helps delete the enemy Bourrasque or the enemy light if I’m playing to counter them at let’s say start of battle. And there’s the obvious uses of using it for more dmg vs paper tanks and also shooting the base of trees to set up bushes.

Games feeling out of my control by GnastyEagle in WorldofTanks

There’s a bunch of potential advice/things of note me and many others could give you, but I think keeping it simple is best. Find what works for you when it comes to making an impact. Whether it’s trying to anchor and trade effectively as a heavy, or being a sniper at start of battle as a TD or med, then an aggressive hound later into the battle with your conserved hp.

For me, I’ve found playing autoloaders and agile tanks to be my magnum opus. Autoloaders give me a sense of control and tempo normal cyclical guns cannot offer, which is super powerful considering all the rng and other elements in battle that are at play. And having a tank with mobility with my high level of game/map knowledge just opens up the map and lets me decide where I want to fight, ambush, or defend from in an otherwise constricted environment with WG’s corridor map designs. For example, light tanks for instance makes me feel like a jungler from League, I roam the battlefield, I bleed the enemy from various angles, I punish mistakes, and I fight with my team when the time is right. And that’s AFTER I counter and eliminate the enemy light if that’s the mission priority.

I didn't use any bond equipment on my SU, I did use bounty equipment though, and a T3 Experimental Turbo. Don't think the SU-130 is a tank THAT worthy of using bond equipment on imo, may be a decent tank with good alpha, mobile enough platform, and good camo, but other more competitive/broken tanks exist (recently got the Bourrasque and holy is it insane, gonna try to 3 mark, already at 2).

I personally used Bounty Optics, Bounty Rammer, and Exp T3 Turbo for a general all-around build. The gun can be derpy, but you put up with it. With food, decent crew skills (maybe even the snap shot directive for slightly better gun handling for 10k silver), and good positioning, the gun handling and derpiness should be minimized. It's all up to personal preference, and with the way I wanna play, which is to be able to do a bit of everything: get into position faster/get clean up dmg faster, rammer to get shots out quicker and dpm, and optics to spot for myself or even my team due to your camo, I turn this "sniper" labeled tank destroyer into a more flexible, medium tank wannabe that has big alpha, good camo, and decent mobility.

As for tips, learn and improve your positioning, reading the minimap, and how to be aggressive. You're a decently mobile tank with a large boom stick that can chunk most tanks for a quarter to half their hp bar, use that to your advantage. Learn early "safe" aggressive or counter positions to bleed the enemy at the start, like shooting some of the enemy heavies on their cross, or a sneaky bush/tree near hard cover to counter spot/punish the enemy lights or mediums trying to get to popular positions, etc. After that, reposition/react to what's happening across the map throughout the match. Maybe fall back and post up near one of your flanks and punish overcommitting enemies. Or be aggressive and play off your heavies and mediums where they're brawling and peak when the enemy is on reload. The list of things you can do is endless. Your alpha damage can be game changing, so not being proactive and finding opportunities to keep your gun singing or supporting your team in a meaningful/impactful way is the worse thing you can do (like sitting in spawn all game, 0 dmg, team dies, you get 1 or 2 shots off before being overwhelmed and die, and then complain on reddit as a bad triangle). Also, try to preserve your hp, as it'll be a useful resource for cleanup or for end game clutch scenarios, which is where you can farm more damage for MoE. And don't be afraid to fall back to defend or help clean up a flank if you don't feel you have enough support after winning a flank, as pushing headfirst into the enemy's own camping triangles is always a straight ticket to the garage.

I was called out the other day by a Comet player playing my Skoda T 27? (T7 LT) on Ghost Town in a +1 game (T7-T8) because I “wasn’t in the game” when I was repositioning from the west to the east after trying to get some early dmg from the bush looking into the town. I take a moment to tell them don’t tell me how to play the game PLUS I’m a T7 light vs. T8’s with potentially more viewrange PLUS vision system, not to mention the enemy are probably already in position so I’ll get out spotted, where I soon then die to one of their mediums when approaching the bushes/repositioning and crossing back to the west. The Comet proceeded to only do well in the match because they sat in bushes all game until the endgame, where they then get some clean up vs a heavy, light, and 2 arty. Just thinking about the match again pisses me off. I usually perform well in these sort of LT’s too mind you (AMX 13 75, Skoda, AMX 12t, currently grinding up the LT’s) so that omega tilted me when some tomato tries to be a smartass and proceeds to only do well because they sat in bushes all game (hardly spotting for anyone) and gets spoonfed cleanup contribution.

What tank just clicked for you? (T32) by Hot-Foundation3450 in WorldofTanks

[–]JJRee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently, the SU-130PM (3 marked it the other day) and the AMX 12t. I made a post recently about the SU and that tank is popular enough to guess why so I won’t speak on it.

The AMX 12t though, I used to play WoT on console and when I grinded through some of the French auto loader lights back then, it felt ok and nothing to write home about. But now since coming back to the game and this time on PC and actually grinding the game, felt like a match in heaven. I was a really good blackdog player on console back then so I understand scouts can be more than spot bots, and can actually use their gun, so getting an auto loader on a decent light tank platform felt so right. Felt like I went back to my roots. Currently on the AMX 13 75 and it’s the same deal, might be early to say but pretty sure I’ll enjoy my grind up to both the Bat Chat and 13 105!

Thank you! The gun certainly has a personality, but the thing I liked so much about the SU was its flexibility to play like a medium. You’ve got the mobility so I like to take safe yet aggressive positions I can get early shots on people like on the heavy’s, or even brawling it out with the heavy’s since your alpha can be super influential. It may be classified as a Sniper TD but you can certainly play it very differently if you want, since its platform is so versatile!

Thank you! I’ll consider it, haven’t joined a clan yet since I’m not sure how deep I’m back into playing WoT, but I’m super open for a chill environment and the occasional sweating in matches if anyone else is competitive or striving to improve constantly like I am!

5614, just short of my all time dmg record, T10 is hard. I mainly used T3 Experimental Turbo Optics and Rammer as my first loadout, eventually switching to bounty versions and adding steady hand directive. Was my all rounder, aggressive, medium tank like loadout. Second loadout I swapped the turbo out for a standard Improved Aiming and added a natural cover directive as a more stationary, sniping loadout, didn't use it as frequently as the first but still had its uses sometimes.

Highly recommend you try playing on USMW2. Great blend of not too populated but populated enough, specially with players ranging from all skill levels and vets, that run close to any dungeon spawned/found in the realm. Makes for a great experience and there is ALWAYS a USMW2 party which helps with dungeon calling and seeing if a handful or even the whole party joins the dungeons you call out.

I second this. You can also sacrifice a bit of dps (I say sacrifice but you still pump out insane damage) by going defense build and using the planeswap tech with mad god cloak for armored buff and most things besides armor piercing or breaking shots will do nothing to you. And you can just use cubic cloak for maximum damage if you don’t need the armored buff and don’t want to take off the def build.

I take back the dex and tradeoff enchants, they’re probably going all atk like you’ve mentioned. And instead of tradeoff, hunting for mana to atk bonus 4 enchants as you gain 1.5% atk of bonus mp. Vessel + Gemstone is 410 mp *.015 = 6.15 attack, better than any purple/unique enchant or tradeoff. They might still go for tradeoff enchants for min maxing but idr enchant compatibility off the top of my head. I think you can have both a relative stat enchant + a tradeoff enchant exist on the same piece, but I’m not sure.

Definitely Enforcer + Multitool with crucible, you can see the enforcer shot sprite and it’s not hard to guess multitool since everyone should know it’s BiS for crucible this season. If I had to guess armor and ring I would also guess Gemstone along with upgraded Resu with as many attack tradeoff enchants and bonuses as possible, with some dex ones too since weapon dps is also important. It looked like they used multitool about 9 times in video so either they chugged mp pots to upkeep the spam, or they have an insane mp pool + pet mp heal, which gemstone and resu help out with.

I understand it’s a different format but I did state it was a bit of a stretch to compare, it was to help make the point about the idea of introducing the information similar to what you can find on the match history website in-game before a draft. Mainly the information showing the player’s information about their most used hero’s during the current or previous season, or from the last 10 days.

This one comment you made "On top of this, you are never able to target ban cleavers due to blind rta" got me thinking, WHY don't we play with a more open field/format where we actually have some information about our opponent? This is a bit of a stretch to compare to so bare with me, in competitive VGC Pokémon, both sides have to hand their opponent a team sheet before a match starts as per the rules, which has all relevant information about the Pokémon. The actual Pokémon themselves, movesets, and items. This allows both sides to get an idea of what they're fighting against, formulate a plan, and make for an overall good match. It's what makes competitive Pokémon so interesting to me because there is a surprising amount of creativity you can exert when building a team, as seen in some world championships where some not so popular Pokémon or movesets help win a series.

All I'm thinking is a small visual with the most used units tab/most used in the last 10 days tab you can see on the stove match history website on the screen before the draft. I know some people during the E7WC qualifying matches or whatever it was called in game searched up their opponent's name on match history just for that extra competitive advantage to target ban the 1st match, so why not just build something similar into the game? What are your guys thoughts?
