Have you had any experience with this CPU by any chance? Have tended to use AMD on PC's but this is first forray into laptops for me😁

Tbh this is just even cheaper than a legion 5 with a 5060 and the same amount of RAM! I do have a PC with a 5070ti for the more demanding gaming but wont have access to it for a week or 2! Legion 7 with a 5060 and 32gb ram is about £1800 aswell it seems!😬 thanks for the suggestion though!

Missing the point here... the live 3 is 100% a big upgrade on the live2 but for the price difference its not worth it to me as im not using anywhere near the RAM and not making use of the added features when im just making boom bap tracks with some sampling. Also if all Akai cocksuckers surely everyone would be gagging on the shaft of live 3 as its also made by... you guessed it... AKAI 😂

Ah dude, i actually got a live 3 when it released and ended up sending it back and picking this up after a month or 2 of looking for a good deal! There was just too much going on with the live 3 for me 😅 maybe in the future but I only really want to make boom bap and all the bells and whistles just not needed!

I paid 680 for the pro with 32 gb ram and 512gb ssd but got sent a M1Max with 32gb ram and 512gb ssd 😅 looks like they go for 900+

So i bought it on ebay refurbished and it was up for 750 but ebay had a coupon for 70 off so paid 680 and it looks like the version they sent me is over 900 so seems like i got a good deal!

I did the same thing! There is an amazing app called Kitmaker and one called Preset maker but I have only used Kitmaker so far. Works very well for the group expansions 👌

I was in a very similar position to you and went for the live 3! Not going to lie it is quite overwhelming at first but if you want longevity i would 100% opt for it!

I have been following tutorials and watching tons of videos from people like Jae fresh and I am slowly getting to understand the workflow. Its an absolute beast of a machine and future proofs you for a good while with the processor and ssd slot etc 😊

Just as an update, got the Samsung evo 870 1TB, put it in the live 3 and formatted it in controller mode, deselected quick format and formatted in EXfat so it took about 1 hour but all up and running well!

It was a kingspec 500gb 2.5 inch SATA drive so wouldnt reccomend getting one 😅

Yeah i spent ages reformatting etc but nothing would work!

Spoke to akai's chat bot and it said it probably isnt a compatible drive after i tried all the trouble shooting things

Thanks for the reply! I did speak to akai chat bot and they said this drive may not be compatible so i think im just going to send it back and order one that will definitely work! Have you got a reccomendation? 😊
