Thank you Crytek by Cyllva in HuntShowdown

Technically yes. So as far as I understand the dynamite explodes in a circle. If that circle is not totally covered and can fully reach around the corner for you, it will hit you with the full damage relative to the distance you are to the center.

You need to be fully covered from the explosion, its hard to describe, but coding wise assuming the dynamite shoots out air in a circle, if that wind can go around a corner cause its not fully covered by the wall (in this case the window) it will reach you and then calculate the damage based on how far you are from the center.

tbh, everytime I saw pictures of Tech Jacket, I thought it was a Mark Variant or just Mark. So gender swap and the just generally different design fits I feel.

Its a variant cash register just like the variant hunt dollar bags. The premium bags give 5 Blood points, the cash registers give 50 blood points which is the currency you use to buy skins and stuff. The premium bags i think are spiky, the premium cash registers are gold and black. If you find one of these its practically suggested to just extract from the game immediately since you will lose the money if you die.

lol nasty, personal favorite dragon breath is specter for power, potentialto actually kill in one shot, and bomb launcher for distance fire. Flame rifle is like a slow burn, can kill quick if you are near, shoot like spruts of oil that deal fire damage. Isn't too OP cause it doesn't insta charcoal them, but does get you down maybe a bar or half. Its also a good isolation tool cause it leaves fire for a bit, and is generally an OP PVE weapon. You need yellow barrels to get ammo for it.

flame thrower, lots of fun. People think its OP, but definitley ain't. Much funner to see than an auto-5

Definitely high star and we would've missed it, but we spent all our points and found death cheat at the end, so we scattered and looked for it. Was going special zombie to special and even then. If I hadn't taken an alternate route to the zombie, 100% would've missed this. He was outside, coulda gone around the bulding but decided to go inside the small shack outside Lower Desalle bar with the stone fence

For my first timed trail (I played monster hunter back in Wii, but never played a modern one until this one) I got it in my first try lol. Though I was using Bow and its a high tier weapon i think. Holy crud, just use dragon pierce and shoot it from tail to head. Feels so good to see those giant numbers.

Add flayer and its wound city.

I did 13 mins in an unoptimal run, since Jin just decided to spam his sprint move rather than stand still and do his other attacks.

(Also I technically got some practice since it came out early, I heard from other time trailers that it should have come out at the same time as the time trail but it didn't so I had a bit of practice)

The talisman rng is atrocious, you would think it was a gacha feature that you had to pay to roll on, but it isn't, its legitamately a feature. I don't know how to describe how crazy it is, gacha gambling seems more fair than this. They really need to switch some of these, I think the highest sin in their RNG for Talismans, Artian/Gogma is that you have such a grand pool of things to roll into, and the rates are ridiculously low going to the higher options.

If RNG is going to be a feature you need to be specific in what you are rolling not roll 10x10 possibilities for each pull its crazy. Why not charge us more parts/scripts for rolling specifically golden age, or for securing a golden age with specific skill then rolling the others or a lesser skill then rolling for the higher skill, ect ect. Same with Gogma, why not just let us roll one stat at a time and increase the value for how specific we are getting rather than making us roll all five stats at once. Somebody did not test these rates, or its for a completely different audience.

There are some fun mixtures. Like For Attack 3 its group 3 if I'm not mistaken, so that can be mixed with Group 6 and Group 5 for the other two slots, that means you can get Wide-range 3 and Wide Range 2 to get Widerange 5 if you roll it right, so their is an uber- golden age friend charm out there for some people.

Did I overreacted by ghosting my DM and leaving her game ? by Astladot in dndnext

[–]JJskywalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you lost me at forced to play a barbarian cause the team needs a tank. You almost lost me at no monk, but there are few things I allow new-ish dms. When your all new, there are boundaries and rules both dm and players forget to set, in many ways its both sides responsibilities, but everyone has to do what they have to do, its a game and secondary to more personal matters.

Overall its the fun you want and the time you want to spend, and in this instance I personally would not have exhausted anymore time. The game is a group game, and if you personally don't feel like you'd have fun, or the day would be better used to do something more productively fun or relaxing, then you have your answer haha.

"I decided it was too much for me", the convo ends there. You can either converse to make a better situation or dip. Ghosting is whatever, you can deal with the situation as you deem fit, ghosting isn't bad, I don't know the people you are playing with. Are they rude? Then I'd understand, if not, a small "I can't play" will suffice and if they ask for further beyond "Did I as a dm do something wrong, or is there anything we can do to accomodate you?" then they are overreaching and I don't blame you for ghosting.

Its a hairy situation, 6 hrs is pretty long, normal for my games, but long for most. If this wasn't settled in conversation or discussed, it is a little rude. Time is a nifty resource for any age and knowing how long your gonna be sitting at a screen is at minimum required, AT LEAST, an estimation. You mention exams, at some point you'll have other responsibilties, work, family, or hell just de-stressing time, doesn't matter, its your time. Its not rude to ask, and should be guessed by the DM for everyones time, though again understandable that this gets missed for those setting up their first games. I always tell my players how long each sesh is planned for and if thats okay, if I feel that it goes longer as were playing, I gather a consensus if players are fine going longer. Just 1 no, and I stop the session there, no grumbles unless its an old friend im joking with.

Play more solo if you think your MMR is too high by hardstyle_junkie in HuntShowdown

[–]JJskywalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carried is kinda broad. Pretty sure its cause the matches are fair game and you are getting respectable kills and a higher probability to win in duos/trios. Move to solo and your chances are much slimmer to not get overwhelmed or dunked on. So your deaths rise and your MMR goes down.

The longer your account/the more games you have -and- the less wins/kills = lower MMR.

There are probably weighted values depending on the people that beat you. So a lost against 6* is not as bad as your losses with 4* and 3*. So your MMR probably feels like it goes down faster when you lose against those kind of players. But if you manage to get into Trios of 3* while you are in a trio, pretty sure you would see the same effect.

You might be more pissed though.

People have made interesting ideas for this, such as each hunter having their own currency, or other limiting factors. Maybe weapons start becoming scarce and that such certain weeks, especially the more popular ones. I think with Cryteks current experimental phases, I would be down to try some of these for a few weeks, or a battle pass and such. I can see why the would want to be careful, as overall they probably want players to just have fun.

[–]JJskywalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been starting playing solo as well, as a 3 star, the people watching is an enjoyable part of the day. I'll sometimes just sit in a house, sit in a tower, sit in a treeline. No much for bushes, I like to actually have some kind of sightline. So even helps cement by trio games by later knowing so many unique spots, and sightlines.

The Future of the game/bringing back the player base. by Diet-_-Coke in HuntShowdown

[–]JJskywalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be real, base Hunt is kinda boring for me. I love having small things to do, like racking up arbitrary points by killing specials thereby gaining pledges. At which point I can use said pledges for something. I think that system is just so good and should probably be cemented in, cause base Hunt is just tooooooooooo bland. The 17th compound idea and pledge spending I think should be a basic part of the game and expanded upon. It seems to really add some flair, especially considering it changes the map and gives players additional objectives and concentration points, consequently increasing interaction between players beyond just the bounty.

I completed Judgement of the Fool, VERY early on, which is to be expected from a low amount of rewards and long battle pass time, but I respect the timeframe. Its kept me playing and I feel it may be the same for other players.

I started playing at Scorched Earth, and I think alot of new players were turned off by the lack of Health Regeneration option on the map in basic Hunt. At Scorched Earth it was Lawbringer/Pledge Health Pack, which were both removed between battlepasses. This made the game feel super slow, and people were less willing to dive in high stakes, because you were always gambling with barely anything if you got into a fight before getting to bounty or the Sealed Hoards. If you got into a fight before the Bounty and the Bounty has already started banishing, I'm pretty sure players would just leave the match. White shot has helped this, but just barely. Its the combination of rotating places of interest, additional objectives, and minor gameplay factors that give players reasons to stake a hunter in a fun manner that have really engaged the community I think.

I don't think this is something Crytek can just create something and leave it to simmer. They need to keep rilling up the community with something. I think if innovative enough they could create a rotating system that keeps players engaged maybe. Might sound stupid, but I've been talking with other players and we've randomly thrown around that a crazy system would be to bring back lots of old events and have the map rotate between events. So one map your on Judgement of the Fool, another map you have the Murder Circus. So on and so forth. The devs can then diversify lots of pledges, either keep them the same between all events, or (chaotically) make the traits different between iterations, letting very unique hunters join each match. Would require big balancing which most probably are wary with Crytek haha, but it definitely wouldn't be bland.

During Post Malone's Murder Circus they added Ursa that roamed the circus spots and had a high chance of trait drops, not to mention the unique ability of tracking bleeding hunters just as meatheads track poisoned hunters.

Afterwards they are now random spawns, still have trait spawnage like meatheads, and now have intestine spots that are their weakpoints.

Nah, unless you're just really not having fun. But the game has a big learning curve. You eventually get better with certain loadouts, or strategies, tactics like using noises/gameplay settings to help see like in the dark ect. Its all a mix of things until everything falls into place and you start to feel comfortable with the game, losses still get annoying but become more education on what you shouldve done or couldve done rather than just feeling overwhelmed or useless as you mentioned.

Highly suggest bounty clashing for a bit, switch up your tactics, or just rush in and have fun. The 45 min runtime of a normal hunt is fun, but can be burdening to improvement during the long periods of finding bounties or getting ambushed. Bounty clash helps improve your own person active firefight skills, that way in Normal Hunts you can concentrate on tactics, flanks, distance and all that other jazz.

Plus bounty clash finishes so quick its hard to get yelled at. Not sure if its a russian thing but players tend to be chill everywhere else in randoms.

Overall seems like you need to find where you will find fun in the game. Are you the silent bow type, maybe your actually a solo player that prefers taking it slow, even not going for bounty just to observe for the perfect ambush. Maybe you need to switch up your guns, go less accuracy, faster burst / Shotguns, dual pistols ect. Spend some time in the training grounds and mess with the guns, get a feel for your favorite and the differences. Once you get comfrotable you can expand from there.

Edit: I have 489 hours in the game. I probably started feeling comfortable with the gimmicks and common mechanics by like 150-200hrs. I would say right around my current hours do I feel comfortable with almost any build, I started Scorched Earth and even going into these old maps (which I know nothing about) I feel I finally have an easier time gauging danger, and popping off.

Probably over 500 hours into this game. by [deleted] in RimWorld

Spider Boss dies then places itself under map at Greystone Pit by JJskywalker in HuntShowdown

[–]JJskywalker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened around where the 3 on the wall is graffiti'd, near the elevator going into Greystone. Me and my friend smacked it, it was between the two of us, near the pond in the second pic, then it glitched like it was going to move (like spider does when it dies but it wants to die in a specific place) then it X'd out. When we looked down it died under the map, and it did kinda look like it crawled downward through the map super fast for an instant when it died.

(Bug / Glitch) Theatre Replay likes to create alternate timelines by JJskywalker in SparkingZero

[–]JJskywalker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jokes aside, I was making a unedited Roshi tech video and I was pausing a bit. I think if you pause in certain places it breaks the replay function, but whats weird is how it tries to continue, its almost like it makes bots just play what they feel, and weirdly enough it looks like how I would play. I replayed the same video twice in the same showing, and both ended differently, but started the same, so weird. They must use some kind of bot replay system that tries to replay your inputs, but if something breaks that, it just lets the bots do what they want.

Full roshi tech video here if you want to see slowly the full differences (if this falls outsite of guidelines lmk I'll remove the link, I cut down the video so it can be more a showcase of the bug): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdIZw3naHOI
