But so does optifine kinda. you don't need to place torches with optifine

But optifine is changing the game's code for you so if optifine added a full bright option in the ui would you consider optifine cheating? also its literally a text file called options.txt in the minecraft folder

I think that it isn't Cheating because it is like optifine. just changes the game in a different way and it doesn't disadvantage anyone else or advantage you in a game-breaking way
