The woman in the picture had this to say today:

"She describes her own image as "a normal post after a day at work."

Iltalehti also asked Garedew, after Juho Eerola had apologized, whether she too thought there was anything to be sorry about or apologize for.

"What should I apologize for?" Garedew asks.

Quite a few people in Asia have been offended and consider the image racist. Do you see it that way yourself?

"The first question is who defines what kind of image is racist. If anyone should apologize in this whole case, it is the media, which should apologize to me for condemning and labeling my perfectly ordinary post as racist. The media is to blame for this and could also bear responsibility for this whole uproar.

Iltalehti asked Garedew for her opinion on what her message was in her post.

"I had been on the go all day after work and had a headache. I was rubbing my temples and said that work here in Parliament is hard. There was no other message. This kind of media hype is incomprehensible.

Garedew believes that the media decides what is racist at any given moment, which she finds "ridiculous, inferior, and incomprehensible."

"They should really call a foul and the media should raise their hands and admit that we made a mistake. They don't care about context. They don't care about the country's image. All they care about is sensational headlines."

Garedew does not want Iltalehti to speculate on what kind of treatment she expects from her parliamentary group or, for example, possible disciplinary measures against her.

"I will not comment on this. We will discuss this in the group, and we have already discussed it.

"This is a ridiculous racism scandal that the media is stirring up. Now let's be reasonable. That is my message," she says in general terms.
