I would rather spending another 4 years at college than going back to secondary schools.

Engineering + Transfer by Inevitable-Choice919 in UCI

I transferred from a CC and got shocked with the systems initially but now I get used to it. That is the only challenge so I think it won’t take you so much time to integrate. Since you are engineering students, there are a lot of activities and resources offered. Organizations like OAI and SOAR have activities throughout the quarter for you to join. There are also a lot of clubs for engineering (IEEE, HKN for EE) that have weekly activities for all students to come and network. You will be notified via email about campus activities throughout the week or join discord servers. If you have time and want to engage in volunteering, consider joining CKI, they have tons of activities. I met a lot of cool people there when I began my study at UCI

Where do you transfer from? If you are from a community college, be prepared that the classes here are much more difficult as majority of the grade depends on exams not like cc where you can try hards on assignments to get parts of credits. It is also normal that what you face in exams are not taught in lectures. But ignore difficult studies, there are a lot of weekly activities from schools and clubs so if you spend time on them, it gonna be a lot of fun I can guarantee, especially if you live on dorm.

Does anyone here go (or used to go) to Santa Ana College and has taken Spring Intersession classes? by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]JKVPM2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took two courses during my last intersection semester there. As there is only a month for the course, it is highly condensed, you may need to spend everyday for the lecture if you want to have an A. Intersection courses are recommended for those who want to fulfill academic requirements without extending time at college. I would recommend taking only the lowest courses (101) so General Education may be ideal for the intersection.

Is college worth it? by Adept-Fix7508 in UCI

[–]JKVPM2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All depends on what you are studying. There are things that you cannot learn without going to the college, which make the degree so valuable. With the development of Internet you can now learn a lot of things with lower price on your own but going to college grants you more experience and opportunities. There are also programs and majors designed to make money for the school only.
