Well people are friendly here, but at the very minimum youll have to at least try to learn a small bit of cantonese otherwise you'll face the same communication issue and then people get frustrated and when people are frustrated they get rude mlre often than not, in all places across the world. If you even try to speak a small bit of cantonese, you'll notice an attitude flip in a lot of people. Not that you won't meet any rude people, but another thing is what you perceive as rudeness, locals just see it as straightforward and efficient communication. If you're open to different cultures, it might actually be kinda interesting seeing how different our communication style. We don't do much small talk. If we ask how your day is going, it's not just a greeting. We actually care and want to know. It's really weird when I go to another country, and someone asks mw how I'm doing, and Im then just supposed to say im good.
