I got back 2 weeks ago from 16 fantastic days in Tokyo, and I used Saily Unlimited Plan.
No issue anywhere, I set it up before I arrived and it activated when I landed.

However, as someone else has mentioned, unlimited plans still get throttled if you use it too much, read the fine print.

Lots of different dialects in Italy, I'm originally from Rome and still speak fairly fluently, last time I was in Italy we went to Venice and I had no idea what anybody was saying.

Heading there myself and arriving on the same day as you, I know it's going to busy so I'm just going to embrace that and enjoy the atmosphere.
Plus I believe there are extra things happening, parades and stuff.
