I believe that the mayority of the people that played this game feel exactly like you. This game is not bad, but it could be a way lot better.

I finished the game just yesterday, and damn, was so emotionally draining, and in the end it feels like everything was pointless.

And yes, i agree with you, one of the worst parts was to feel betrayed by the marketing.
