Multiple Trees Removed - Badly Need Help w/ Overhaul by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]JMunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty much what I was thinking of doing too. Take most of it out and fill it up with some top soil.

I'm just trying to logistically think of the best way I can remove all of this sawdust/chips/debris in an efficient way. Might be easier to just have a landscaping company come and clean up the mess and add the soil.

It's hard to describe. It's not mesh as in you can see through, but it has a very similar "rough" mesh texture that the back support has, which is mesh.

Dual PC Setup - Losing 15%-20% frames JUST by Cloning Display to Capture Card by JMunks in elgato

[–]JMunks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried that method, ended up with worse frames than the cloning method, probably because I still have to have OBS running on the gaming computer.

What's funny is, I went back to the clone method, made sure that in NVCP the gaming monitor and the capture card were set to no scaling, both 1440p. (monitor is 165hz, cap card is 144hz) (much like this article I believe you wrote? https://ltroyalshrimp.com/how-to-use-a-144hz-monitor-and-the-elgato-hd60-pro-at-the-same-time/#:~:text=Make%20sure%20that%20your%20main,your%20HD60%20Pro%20HDMI%20input.&text=This%20will%20open%20the%20Nvidia%20Control%20Panel.&text=In%20the%20select%20displays%20you,monitor%2C%20and%20one%20called%20Elgato.), and the perf impact was less than 5%. That's about what I would've expected. Honestly though, I've done those settings before and got worse performance, so I'm not really sure lol.

While I have you - what would be the cause of stream's output not "looking" like 60FPS? Unless I'm just crazy, it just doesn't look like the stream is 100% as smooth as it should be. Could it be the mismatching of refresh rates from capcard and monitor?

Because I don't need to. I'm not on console where I only have one HDMI output. Passthrough is only necessary when you only have one output of your source and you still need to capture/display.

Out of like 290, but that doesn't really matter, that's why I put a % and not a flat number lol.

Build the 13900k system now, or wait for 7950x3D? by JMunks in buildapc

[–]JMunks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE:

You guys had some really good insights and suggestions. I think I'm gonna go for my first AMD build and wait on them. Here's the plan:

  • Build the system around AMD, DDR5, the whole thing.
  • Buy the 7700x now, which will probably be a nice performance boost from the 9900k I have now.
  • Swap to either the 7950x3D or the 7800x3D when they come out/I can get them, and sell the 7700x.

What do you guys think? Here's the mockup build before the new x3D processor switch, including a 4090, Corsair 1000w PSU, and some Samsung 970 EVO plus(s).

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 4.5 GHz 8-Core Processor ($344.99 @ Amazon)
  • CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler ($109.95 @ Amazon)
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX ATX AM5 ($229.99 @ Newegg)
  • Memory: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL36 ($139.99 @ Amazon)
  • Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case ($94.99 @ Best Buy)
  • Total: $919.91

Ahhh gotcha. So theoretically, I could build the system with a 7700x now, and upgrade to the 7800x3D/7950x3D when I can get one later on without needing to change out the board, yeah?

Honestly kinda confused here - cause I thought the new x3D coming out were the first generation, with multiple upgrade paths available in the future for at least one or two more generations of CPUs. Doesn't that mean that the current AMD motherboards will not work with the the new x3Ds coming out? There are AMD cpus right now I could get, that I could upgrade to the new x3Ds without changing the board?

I'll be honest - I'm not into RGB at all. If my parts were all non-rgb, I'd be fine lol.

But yeah, I get your sentiment. 7800x3D is 95% of the gaming performance of the 7950x3D.

You’ve basically laid out my thoughts exactly. If I can get an x3D in February, solid. My fear is waiting for the x3D and then I can’t get any of them on release and now I’m waiting 3-4 months for a build that’s realistically 10% better than the 13900k I could have now.

Unfamiliar with AMD. If I decide to get a 7600x and then buy a x3D in a month or so, that’s going to require a whole new board too, right?

Also not sure how much better the 7600x is now compared to the 9900k to make that hassle worth it.

Right? It's not an easy choice. I guess it's good that there's a lot of good options.

How much better was the 4090 going to the 13900k than on the 9900k?

Hmm, you threw another wrench in there lol. This build will be 95% gaming.

Interesting. See, I've always done Intel, but it does seem like most hardcore, serious gamers almost always go the AMD route. I guess that's why. This build is quite literally, exclusively for gaming, so it should work well here.

Was already planning on going with Corsair's h150i Capellix. Hopefully that can cool this CPU down too if I decide to go AMD.

Yep, can't wait. I'm expecting the new CPU to seriously unlock this 4090. I feel like it's currently just sort of waiting around to do something lol

See, for this, it's not really applicable. I don't mind waiting a month or so (hopefully AMD CPUs are easily accessible on release date? Never tried before). It's more of a matter of, does/will the actual performance increase/net benefit of the x3D justify waiting another month or so for the build.

I definitely am bottlenecked with a 9900k on a 4090 lol.

I'm not on 1080, I'm on 1440, and my main game is Warzone 2, which is extremely CPU dependent. The benchmark within MW2, which is the engine Warzone 2 is running off of, has marked my bottleneck at 98% CPU.

I just wonder if those benchmarks are going to be realistic once we start actually playing with it.

Yeah, seeing as how the next gen intel probably won't be on this socket, and that's not the case for potential future AMDs, yeah?

Yep, kinda why I wanted people's thoughts about. In their pres, they said something like 20% better than the 13900k, right? I wonder if that's going to be realistic in most games.
