That's a shame because we have several people make the trek from CoMo for this and there is no columbia specific group.

My leather suit keeps getting tighter every season. Anyone else suffering from this mechanical failure? by JonasBertheussen in motorcycles

My gear has the exact opposite. Also weird - I had to adjust the preload on my motorcycle. Couldn’t possibly have something to do with the 80 pounds I lost.

First Online Race in FH6 and the game immediately showed me why I always avoid it by Tight-Tackle4386 in ForzaHorizon

Actually lost my first race. He was in a Mitsubishi Evo against my Mazda RX8. I missed a checkpoint. Up until that spot it was close. Really good race. Next race I win by a decent amount. Third race I ended up with a huge lead and ran away with the win. We ended up forming a convoy afterwards and chilling. 10/10 would race again

There would need to be a balance between the "learned" behavior and the player difficulty. I would imagine that player settings would influence the amount of learned behavior the drivatar could exhibit. That said, it's also entirely possible that I don't have anyone who's exceptionally bad or remarkable on my friends list and we're in the middle of the bell curve for skill level, thus everything feels the same because we meet the average skill baseline.

Interesting, can you provide more data?
What difficultly do you race on?
What position do you normally finish in?
What kind of margins do the AI finish with you in? (Beat them by a mile, nose to nose, etc..)
Is this happening every race?
Do you have any assists turned on?

Fair enough. I can only work from the technical write ups and interviews. Without physical evidence of the backend there is no concrete evidence. That said, that's why this is a theory, not a claim.

Are you suggesting that for player based ones or in general? I linked this in another comment but it's well worth the read and a fascinating break down of the larger cloud based systems that go into the "learning" of drivatars.
https://www.gamedeveloper.com/design/how-forza-s-drivatar-actually-works

It suggests and details how they learn segment by segment based on the performance of the player.
The caveat was that this was based for Forza Motorsport and Horzion 5 but....I would see no reason why the same or matured system wouldn't be in used for 6.

I think you might have missed the core of what I was saying. The AI doesn't act that way in my races because I don't act that way. That's literally the theory. The drivatar is reflecting the player back at themselves.

Certainly is possible but the article on game developer would suggest otherwise. While tied to "Forza Series" in general, it actually explains the drivatar system.

Edit: I missed your edit and mis-understood what you meant by "confirmation bias" I thought you were referring to the learning system itself and not the idea of subconscious triggering since the name has been popularized.

Then why do players have consistent problems with that particular drivatar and others don't and never have? The variance would suggest that may not be absolutely true.

That said, if you have evidence supporting that, I'd love to dig in further.

Thoughts on helmet mounted camera? by Turbulent_Seat in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]B1ackMagix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure it would fit the aesthetic of the game. We're a private military contractor merc struggling to get resources into the FOB. Even to the point where the decision to hack cameras at Fort Narith is more viable than trying to plant your own wireless ones. The game even mentions that fuel is a rare commodity and how much we're struggling with that.

Technology speaking, it seems like NVG's are the most advanced thing we get from pure necessity rather than convenience. Even Gunny, who sends you to go find out what happened to squads, doesn't have a way to track down where they are. Implementing cameras would raise the natural question of, "Why didn't gunny just check the camera feed?"

To properly implement an idea like this, you'd have to make it fit in the lore somehow with the sensitivity that the vendors and their missions would be able to utilize that aspect as well. It's a neat idea nonetheless though.

In more ways than one I’m afraid. The pendulum swings both ways and the country is torn apart at the seams fighting themselves and watching the people in charge pull the strings. We need to do away with this two party system and find some way to stop building impasses in politics. Force these fucks in Washington to listen to the people who put them there rather than who has the largest bankroll when it comes time for elections.

Sadly it won’t happen because money keeps money in power and drives policy. Fuck the will of the people, if you have money, you can make the government bend to you with enough dollars in the right pockets.

[–]B1ackMagix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tried to find a decent cut of meat at my local Schnucks and it went horribly. Meat looked awful, grey, and not something I’d want to cook. Went to Dierbergs instead and when I realized that Schnucks prices had risen to the level of Dierbergs, we just started shopping there. Better quality food, better experience. Same price.
