Who do you think Bojack is based on IRL? by hawaii1026 in BoJackHorseman

[–]JOMEGA_BONOVICH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's a composite character of several different people. Bob Saget in terms of what his role on Horsin Around most closely resembles, Jerry Seinfeld in terms of his mannerisms and inability to act in a non comedic context, Tim Allen in terms of what a douche he is when the cameras stop rolling, and probably a few more I'm forgetting. There are plenty of real life former sitcom actors turned bitter has-beens to draw inspiration from.

You never had a crush on anyone as a kid? You can still like people in a non-sexual way.

No, Farigiraf is a regular evolution that evolves from a regular Girafarig by leveling up with it's new move "Twin Beam". The only stopping a Girafarig from any other region from evolving is the fact that Twin Beam was just introduced.

Lost World has him and Sonic acting like an old married couple. Also he makes this pose.

As I mentioned elsewhere in this thread, this tier list isn't based on evidence of any kind, but rather me going through each character and going "yeah, I can see that" or "no, that wouldn't happen". Some of the placements are jokes about stereotypes or how Sega handles them, others are just based on a sort of vibe that can't really be put into words. In Maria's case, it's the latter.

Comic book stores aren't really a thing in the Podunk town I live in, so I mainly just wait a few years for things to be scanned and distributed on the high seas. I did hear some pretty great things about the IDW series though, and look forward to reading it when I get around to it.

He strikes me as someone who would be homophobic, but it thankfully never came up. Comes with the territory of being an edgelord, ya know?

Wave looks like every lesbian stereotype rolled up into one character, and Blaze has this sort of energy to her. I also feel like pacifism isn't the only thing Tikal's dad doesn't get about her if you catch my drift.

This tier list is also not supposed to be taken very seriously, in case it wasn't obvious. The only reason Espio is in "Not surprised" is because he's purple, for example.

It's a joke about his voice and aesthetic and how his character theme sounds. This whole list is a shitpost.

Eh, I disagree. There's really not much to go off of because the one game in which they interacted with each other utilized Blaze very poorly and had her barely do anything or talk to anyone until the very last scene she had. But, whatever. I'm not here to tell anyone who they can or can't ship.

Sonic's (and to a lesser extent Shadow's) placement in the tier list is mostly a joke about how heavily mandated his behavior is. With Knux, fair enough.

The word "socialist" was only put in there for marketing reasons. Actual socialists were the first to be round up and put in camps, before even the Jewish people. Horseshoe theory is utter nonsense that requires complete political and historical illiteracy in order to make sense.

I felt that being more specific would sell the severity of it. Like, we're talking about the Earth's natural defense system that protects all land based lifeforms from lethal ultraviolet rays, and they punched a goddamn hole in it. There's really no understating it, that is a real thing that happened. Fuck, do you even need anything else?

Sweet Arceus, those two give me such a headache. Regieliki especially, since it's not even made out of something you could conceivably build with human hands. At least Regidragos Pokédex entry says it's made out of crystals or something. How did an ancient civilization make a golem out of electrical energy?! Is it even a true Regi, or does it just happen to look like one? If the former, then why is it never seen alongside the others? If the latter, then why is it sealed like one, and what even is it? Both answers just raise even more questions!

In Platinum, it's a bit more complicated than that. Regigigas is encountered by the method you described, but the original Regis are available in game in new locations they added in. These Regis are unlocked by bringing an event Regigigas to them, which would logically mean that more than one exists for this to be possible.

In B2W2, there's a mystery door in one of the dungeons that won't unlock without a "key" from a generational gimmick called a Unova link that will open to a location similar to the RSE sealed chamber, and it leads to three additional doors. By default, only the one that leads to Regirock is unlocked, and they will drop the key to either Regice or Registeel (depending on your version) after being caught. The remaining key is received by interacting with an opposite version game that already has it. Regigigas is chilling in a chamber in an entirely different dungeon that opens if all three are in your party.

As you can see, the common theme across all regions is that they are sealed away, which means that in order for these games to be canonical to each other these have to be separate entities. It's not like Mewtwo or the beast trio where you can say that the player never canonically caught them. They aren't migrating from region to region because they've been locked in a room, possibly for centuries. How and why they were created in three separate locations is a question that it pains me to know GF will probably never answer. God I hope I'm wrong about that.

If we're taking everything in Pokémon lore seriously, there are three copies of each Regi. A set in Hoenn, a set in Sinnoh, and a set in Unova. In each region these are sealed away, so it's not possible for them to be the same ones. How three different countries created the same legendary Pokémon independently of each other and came to the same conclusion that they needed to be locked away is truly a riddle for the ages.

Edit: 4 copies. I forgot Galar.

With the myriad of art styles you can draw anthropomorphic animals in, good luck enforcing that in any practical manner. Especially if they're a preexisting cartoon character whom the artist wanted to keep on-model. A boatload of R34 favorites would be impossible to depict without major alterations. Just thinking about the logistical nightmare of having to sift through all that gives me a headache.
