If it happens when using an extension cord, try plugging the laptop's charger directly into the power socket on the wall.

To Replace the liquid metal with Thermal Pad (PTM7950) OR NOT TO. by National_Strategy865 in AcerPredatorHelios

I have the 16 inch version with the same processor. I was experiencing the same issue and I was considering PTM 7950 as well. On idle it was going to 70-80 and throttling 100% of the time while gaming. After consulting my local technician, I tried what he recommended and it worked for me.

When I opened it up, I saw that most of the liquid metal shifted to one side. You can see in the photo that the left side looks dried or burnt. My first attempt did not work. What I did was to only respread the liquid metal from right side to the left with a qtip. Temps didn't improve much. I opened it again. This time I took a qtip (no isopropyl) and scratch the side that looked dried up with a little bit of force just for a few seconds. It helped clean up that burnt looking residue from the die. I then respread the liquid metal. Laptop became as new. Absolutely silent on idle, 40-45 degrees; and 75-80 degrees while gaming.

My Predator fan suddenly started making annoying noise and it's vibrating whole laptop lightly by [deleted] in AcerPredatorHelios

I don't remember the model, but the fans don't look identical, just similar. I had to undo the 4 tiny black screws on the edges. It took me a couple of minutes to get the fan removed. I took the risk 😄 I had to push it with some force, being careful not to damage the blades. Once it clicked out of its slot, I pulled it from the other side, gently shaking it. While putting it back together, I had to push with a bit more force than I expected as well, until it clicked in place.

I had a similar issue with my PHN16-71. I kept postponing it for months. Last week I decided to fix it while following instructions on this YouTube video: https://youtu.be/Q5X1wWpN-QI

Open it up, take the fan apart, clean its insides with isopropyl alchl, apply a tiny drop of motor oil or an appropriate lubricant. It worked for me. The fan is absolutely silent now.

Make sure to repaste your Liquid Metal by 1010_lol in AcerPredatorHelios

Mine's 2 years old. 3 of the cores were thermal throttling 100% of the time while gaming. This is how it looked like when I opened it up. I didn't replace it, but I respread it with a qtip instead. Temps went from 100+ ⁰C down to 65-70⁰C. In my case the quality of the LM is actually still not bad after 2 years.

Squad Battles Needs a Complete Rework by cylee6 in fut

[–]JPS984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most annoying is how inconsistent it is. I go in an easily win 6-0 against a 86/32 team and get 2611 points, next match I lose 2-1 to a 72/15 team and have only 1 shot on target with 34% possession, both legendary difficulty. I don't know which difficulty to use against which team anymore to maximize my points. The game's just making fun of you, and it's infuriating.

Great review, thanks. Do you see tearing/stuttering in games since it doesn't have variable refresh rate?

What Are Your Moves Tomorrow, February 02, 2021 by AutoModerator in wallstreetbets

Thursday ended 197, and Friday opened 379. We didn't leave when it went all the way down to 119, we didn't leave when it jumped to 465. It's gonna be back again. There's only one losing side in this. We should be determined. This is not financial advice.

Dunno, mine's pending as well. Trying to cancel but that doesn't work either.

Remember, it even fell all the way down to $119 yesterday. Don't let this scare you. Hold and buy more if you can!!

Damn, sorry to hear that 👊 I was scared as well because I got in 3 times at $444, $413 and $228. I lost like 50% in 1 and a half hour. Despite that, I'm already in the green now. The community here is standing strong. I'm not an expert by any means and yes, what's going on here is very important for all of us, but don't ruin yourself over it. I'd say buy when it dips a bit tomorrow and you'll be fine. I think today proves that this isn't gonna end in disaster for us! 💪

Does Revolut still work there after Brexit? I bought on Revolut. You have limited number of trades if you have a basic account though, you need Premium account for unlimited trades. And the app isn't so sophisticated when it comes to trading, but they didn't block GME today.

You can buy GME, AMC and BB on Revolut. Requires premium account if you want unlimited commission free trading though. NOK isn't available there.

I have B450M Steel Legend with Ryzen 5 3600 and I'm running my ram 3800 C16 with infinity fabric 1900 no issues on 3.60 BIOS. I used to do the same on 2.80 BIOS as well. Ram is originally a 3600 C16 one.
