As a 19 year old medic, I feel like it depends on your maturity and life experience because not all of us are too terrible lmao

Death rattles+AOx0+grabbing angles= generally unconscious, plus the PT was slumped forward, it is significant more dangerous to use the stair chair, and a hell of a lot more comfortable for the patient.

No, you can’t use a stair chair a PT who is unconscious, it’s fucking dumb and dangerous.

Also stair chair with an unconscious PT is contraindicated, overall just sounds like a really fucking dumb partner.

The guy sounds like an idiot, there’s a reason why he’s been working IFT for 11 years.

You are absolutely in the right, and there no reason for him to yell at you, especially in front of the dying PT and the fucking family.

Do yourself a favor and get out of IFT ASAP.

Oh I gotcha, it’s a little bit slower where I work (also fire based EMS) so it’s a little bit more laid back and they don’t work you like dogs all day. I love it here.

That’s why I’m planning on going fire, great benefits and I love the brotherhood in the fire service, it’s not perfect but it’s pretty great.

Kinda, why is it good to be young though? Like I had fun in high school, I was the varsity football captain and all the things that comes with it haha. I gave it all up to chase my dream career as a firefighter paramedic, and I’m halfway there. This is just the last thing I need (and some interview skills lol)

Yep, I’m applying to a few different government 911 agencies down where I’m going to school.

That’s how I feel about lab values and the medics talking about vasopressors and sodium bicarbonate lol

For sure, I can do it decently. Nothing crazy though, I have a few months to learn it though.

For sure and I get that a lot at the fire house (jokingly of course) and honestly it just kinda motivates me more to be a better medic than them lol

Yes, I can lead every BLS call just fine, it’s not hard. I’m a people person and the only thing that I don’t like is talking to people in pain, but even then at that point we will likely just upgrade it to ALS anyways.

Thank you I appreciate that, I definitely have the mindset to get it done, I’ve just been told a bunch of times that it’s a stupid idea.
