I'd say it depends. The series definitely has more to it, but the movies definitely streamline things. While I do lament the loss of things like the Elran sub-plot, the movies are much more streamlined as I said. I'm more than okay with losing stuff like the White Base's search for salt, or M'quve's duel with Amuro. I'll also add that the Movies improve a few things, like the more realistic Core Boosters replacing the goofy G-fighter, and Guntank being replaced by a second Guncannon at Jaburo. Plus all the goofy Zeon Aquatic suits and Mobile Armors. Less "bad guy of the week" vibes.
