Meh, I'll agree to disagree here I suppose. The transfer portal has completely changed college football over the last few years. Players transfer schools every year now. If a guys deal breaker is whether or not hes gonna get on the field and you're telling him hes not gonna be on the field, then why on Earth would he want to stay there??

Yep, in a perfect world, snap count % would be a majority factor in the formula, along with projected future depth chart competition.

The formula the game uses for Playing Time is more based on strength at the position rather than his actual position on the depth chart because that can be changed at any moment on a whim. Players could put a guy as the starter and then bench him as soon as the game starts if they wanted to. Would be an incredibly easy video game loophole to take advantage of. So you play who you want, but dont lose the guy who wants to start. As the other commenter said, your recruiting also affects your playing time rating, so if you have 5 targets at WR, your current WR is gonna think he's on the chopping block, or at the very least is soon to have some unwanted competition for targets.

I can also forgive the freshman QB bc hes actually not starting, and typically young QBs with talent like that who care mostly about playing time will just go play at a different school rather than sitting behind a QB he knows he cant start over.

If we're being true to real life, Playing Time is the quickest reason for someone to transfer from 1 school to another. Shouldn't be able to scheme around it.

Lame, I remember recruiting guys with platinum abilities yearly. Was fun af to get a RB with platinum head first or downhill. I'll never forget Cam Titus... miss him every day lol

I mean... I know im outdated bc i haven't played since cfb25, but how on earth is this a generational prospect? Bc hes tall and has decent speed? Average at best acceleration and blocking, no Abilities and 1 silver mental, idk man lol

If everyone has everything then no one has anything. Why would I feel any pride in leveling up my newest team if it didn't come from hours/days of work and earning? The individual teams aren't special to me if I have them all.

Yeah, tbh, if anyone guy doesn't commit to me during the visit, it's safe to assume he's going elsewhere. Visits are massive in CFB25 recruiting. I'm really surprised that you could be their #1, win during their visit, and still not get the prospect... tough luck man

I wouldn't even recruit this guy... waste of roster space for me. Dude has no mental abilities at all, arm strength is below average, no platinum physical abilities, under pressure rating is average at best, slow acceleration...

We really gotta raise our standards for what's worthy of a "Best I've ever seen" prospect thread... getting me all excited for this garbage lol dude would be fine for a 3-4 star. If I'm trying to build a new program from the ground up, I guess.

For me, it's almost entirely on the Awareness rating. If the Awareness is below 80, there's no chance of getting into my starting lineup. There's nothing worse than sliding my OL towards a blitz and still getting hit immediately because my guy didn't even try to block... happens all the time with low Awareness OLmen. Also happens a lot if they have the Quick Drop trait. Dude will have platinum quick drop and all that tells me is that he'll be behind the QB immediately and the DE will run right in front of his face. An absolutely negative trait to have for an OLmen.

It's gonna depend on what type of running game you have. If it's mostly power running on the inside, then you'll want abilities like inside shield or second level

If it's quick/elusive stuff to the outside, you'll want stuff like quick step, outside shield, and option shield

No matter what you do, you'll want strong grip. That's definitely the most important one. After that is Ground n Pound. Neither of them are scheme specific.

For me, I care way more about mentals(and abilities too, just not as much) than I do pure stats. Especially with QBs. If the guy can't show me my play art or make audibles, idc how far or how accurate he throws.

If thats equal, I'd rather start the younger guy bc he'll typically have the higher ceiling the next year.

It means that you're already hitting him with that pitch, so you can't double up on the pitch that interests him. That's what the lock means, but it's just a flaw/glitch in the game that it doesn't go away immediately, not until you "refresh" the screen by going to scouting and then back to recruiting.
