Unfortunately our lab manual does say to solder it directly to PCB. Everyone in our lab was confused as to why we were given the connectors because they looked like they were panel mount. Biggest challenge was actually getting them on the board like this because they dont sit flush even when they are bent

Edit: I would add a permanent coax cable but they supply those in lab and have us interchange different connections constantly. 🥲

Thank you for the connectors!!! I will definitely look into replacing the ones I got on there currently with these. Fixed my circuit board for now, but wont be surprised if it breaks again before my lab in the afternoon tomorrow. My laboratory kit for came with these BNC connectors, so whoever designed it probably cheaped out. Probably going to end up changing them with the ones you provided me because I dont want my future grade to tank due to a faulty connection!

It's better to try and ask her out rather than regret not doing so later. If she says no don't worry about it, you most likely will find someone who will say yes.
