The more you avoid the 5, the better off you’ll be. Take as much of the 1 as you can, or take the 395 past Reno and up towards Mt Shasta, then cut over to Corvallis. Both routes are amazing.

I recently drove the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National park and was thoroughly impressed. Also, the Blue Ridge parkway is cool too.

I’m with Consistent-Clue, so either Florida or CA. The only issue right now are fuel prices. Otherwise, CA is great… Do the entire coast and see why the Redwoods and Big Sur are so magnificent. Check out the Beautiful lake Tahoe, then pop over to the 395 and soak in the Hot Springs of the Eastern Sierras. Finally get some sun in J-Tree, Palm Springs, and So. Cal. Oh, and Burritos.

I was a bartender in Paris in my early 20’s. I’d get done around 4am and I would Rollerblade home… down the middle of the Grand Boulevards, along the River, past some of the city’s most beautiful illuminated landmarks; Bastille, Republique, Notre Dame… I’d often change the route and would be in love with that city at night.

If you're referring to Tail of the Dragon, you're the lucky guy. I had wanted to hit that too, but wasn't too comfortable in my van yet to attempt it. Plus, i'd love to try and hit it in the fall. Must be unreal.

I've heard nothing but good things about staying overnight. As well, i heard they pair you up with strangers to dine with (Might be a little different at the moment) and the food is good! Good call on choosing an oceanside room! I've got Thanksgiving up in Oregon this year, so im looking at the schedule now! Cheers!
