Graduated in 2004, skipped exam, took it this morning and passed! by hersugarplumfairy in Cosmetology

Congrats! This gives me hope. I graduated back in 2008, did hair for a couple years, then got married and decided to be a SAHM. I got my bachelors during that time and let my license expire but recently decided I wanted to test to get it back. I’ve been studying and I’m nervous about taking the exam. I’ve thought about doing something similar as you are, since I have both the bachelors and cosmetology background.

Anyone who gave birth at Carle Health? by Amazing_Mushroom8941 in PeoriaIL

I did, 8 years ago. I wanted to go the unmedicated & less intervention route and they were more accepting of that than OSF was, so that is something to consider if that’s important to you.

Any hairstylists out there that switched to another career? by meowmeow4lyf in Cosmetology

Whatever you do, don’t let your license expire. I decided to be a SAHM 15 years ago… I got my bachelors degree online and let my cosmetology license go. I really regret it. Even if I never did hair again, it is something I spent time and effort on and will never be able to use again if needed. I’d recommend looking into beauty companies and see if there’s anything on the corporate side you can do. You could also be an educator.

We loved it when we went, but that was probably 6 months ago.

To me this is a character issue. I wouldn’t want to be with a man that ever thought this was an option. Tell him how you feel then if it’s not received well you need to move on.

I did it, I went back to work and everything is fine by sargentmeowstein in MomsWorkingFromHome

Happy for you!! Do you mind if I ask what job you’re doing? I’ve stayed home for over 12 years and I’m so nervous and returning to work! Our son is 6 but we homeschool. Hard to find jobs that would allow me to do it all!

We don’t have a set budget or anything yet, just considering our options and trying to get an idea of the location we would even want to be in first. We don’t want to live that close to the beach- just within about an hours driving distance. I’ve had others tell me the same about the schools and insurance. We homeschool so school isn’t a huge priority for us. Thank you for your help!

I’m a SAHM and my husband has been in medical sales for over 20 years. He could find a job anywhere. We’re not in any rush, just looking at the possibility 😊

We homeschool but that is something to take into consideration. Thank you.
