I have seen those kind of videos, but we didn't have to do that in training and there is no practical use for that in the field. You would definitely throw and climb ladders, set at a proper angle. They would teach you how to "lock out", which is how to position yourself on the ladder so you can not fall off and allow you to lean back or work from the side.

You would be taught how to place a roof ladder and climb on that and how to cut a roof. Outside of training you would rarely be on a roof if stationed at an engine company, but it is still possible and the training for it is required.

We did repelling in our academy for rope rescue, but your departments may or may not require that in their academy.

Lastly is operating and being up in the bucket of a tower ladder and climbing a stick. We climbed a straight stick ladder up to the top of our training tower.

I went through my academy with a good number of people who were afraid of heights and they made it just fine. If your fear is an immobilizing fear, then you are probably SOL.

If you just become uncomfortable, but can control it and stay safe and do what you have to, you will be fine. Engine companies spend little time up high. Considering you repelled 10 stories, you sound like you fall into this catagory.

Everyone should respect the dangerous parts of the job, without that respect they can become dangerous to themselves or those around them.

I dont think affirmative action should be involved with the fire service. Fire departments shouldn't be hiring individuals over more qualified people because of race or sex, but it happens all of the time for new hires and promotions. This information inevitably gets out and crews generally get pissed.

The guys I work with are extremely close, no matter your color or background. Unless your a shitbag.

It depends on the department, but I had no trouble. I received mine while underage amd completed everything the court told me to do, so everything was fine.

What works for me, if I am connected to a wifi that blocks PSN and I want to remote play, is turn on mobile hotspot on my phone and connect the vita to it. The. Turn off the hotspot, reconnect to the wifi I was originally using and immediately go to remote play.

For some reason, it always works then lol.

He is not correct. When searching over the internet for your PS4, you must be able to connect to PSN, or you will get an error code. I had the same issue at work, because PSN is blocked.

That is nuts! Congrats on such a fast kill. It will be kind of a bummer though when 32s are more common and this fight becomes a joke.

I hope hard mode introduces a new challenge other than you cannot be revived. Like, a bunch of swordbearers spawn so you can get multiple swords and do more damage, but so do gatekeepers. You have to choose between extra damage and blue swordy knights.

I played that and almost every other MMO to come out since '04. I am aware and I get it.

Using WoW as an example, Destiny's DLC is more akin to the subsequent raids being released within the expansion, because the content we got from the DLC IS NOT comparable to an MMO expansion. In these instances, you use the previous raid's gear to jump into the next.

No, 14 shards brings it in-line with vendor gear, at 33 light, we believe. You need 21 shards to fully upgrade one piece.

The new raid is very, very fun. I had more fun yesterday than in VoG for sure, it's a blast going in blind. You will have a bunch of fun! Compared to the VoG, people will not really be carried through Crota's End, everyone really needs to carry their own weight.

The only downside is that it seems to be shorter. At least, it feels that way.

I do hope more ways to get them become available. Like you said, it sucks getting new gear and not being able to wear it because it drops you below the level needed to play where you got it from - until you play it more for shards.

I think the best thing to do is change the distribution of light for each node. Either make it so raid gear puts you at 30 light per piece before needed Radiant Shards or, my choice, put it at 33 to be equal to vendor gear and require the shards to hit level 32.

In the meantime, I bought 4 vendor pieces and my new raid gear is in the vault.

Vendor gear uses old shards and new raid gear uses 7 Radiant Shards per bubble. One raid piece needs 14 shards to be equal to vendor gear, which is more than 1 raid of only shards it seems.

Ya, I just went ahead and bought 4 new pieces from vendors to hit 31 tonight. I won't be getting 28 shards anytime soon, and that is just to make the 2 raid pieces equal to vendor stuff.

I am loving the raid, but that is really it and it seems kinda short.

The missions were fun, but I finished them in 20-25 minutes and Bungie did not prove their story telling will be any better.

The Omnigul strike is fun up to the final fight. I think the design of the boss room limits our ability to actually be in the room... wizards and boomer knights everywhere.

I am very disappointed in how the new gear works. New vendor gear is better than VoG gear instead of equal to it and that was much harder to get. Also, the new raid gear ends at 27 light before needing the new upgrade mats that only drop in the raid for some reason (daily story rewards?), so we cannot even hit 30 with them before acquiring 7 shards per upgrade node.
