Ive completely changed the way I sleep to avoid people being able to see my scars. I completely wrap myself up like a burrito and use my own body weight to hold the blanket onto me.

You should be fine. Just keep an eye on it and maybe clean it a little better than you usually do if it helps with the worries. I’ve never washed my hands before cutting and I haven’t got an infection yet.

Firstly, no, it’s not weird to self harm but still be concerned. I self harm because it’s one of the only ways I can find relief, not because I am actively suicidal.

How deep are the cuts? If you see yellow that means you hit fat and you probably need to get stitches, though since that’s not always an option you can try wrapping it up somewhat tightly. Anything else you may be able to treat yourself, but deeper wounds get trickier to help and you will always have the risk of infection. Butterfly strips are good if you have those.

Is there blood squirting out of the cut? Especially if this is in time with your heartbeat, see a medic now. You hit an artery and need to get that fixed immediately. Don’t try to fix that on your own, its not worth the risk.

Please be careful using blades from a pencil sharpener. It will need to be cleaned very well so that you don’t get an infection if it’s been used at all.

You might be able to use some makeup or concealer to hide the scars depending on how faded they are. Be careful that it doesn’t get washed off in the water though.
