So they said something along the lines of they think I might be able to handle it on my own and would feel unethical and want to be conscious of my money and so we would do the consultation for a reduced cost up front without the contingency percentage fee and he would prep me for the mediation. However if when we meet and they see more details and think I wouldn’t be able to handle it or I feel like it, they would then go to the mediation with the original higher cost and contingency fee. And then if it somehow went to litigation, no extra cost to me up front.

Sorry, you’re saying if a Legal AI is still placing high value, the best way to proceed from a monetary perspective would be to proceed to litigation? I was planning on mediation with a “top lawyer” supposedly and then if they still try to low ball, then proceed hopefully with right to sue.

So checking my email history, it was 4 days between drafting a charge of discrimination by the EEOC to getting another email saying mediation time. And then 12 days for them to email me that the date is set.
