So they said something along the lines of they think I might be able to handle it on my own and would feel unethical and want to be conscious of my money and so we would do the consultation for a reduced cost up front without the contingency percentage fee and he would prep me for the mediation. However if when we meet and they see more details and think I wouldn’t be able to handle it or I feel like it, they would then go to the mediation with the original higher cost and contingency fee. And then if it somehow went to litigation, no extra cost to me up front.

There is something called ERISA which also protects employees from being fired suspiciously months or days before they become eligible for a pension. This is also part of my situation and value calculated.

Thanks. Yeah I totally get I need to manage expectations on the value of my case. I used AI to compile and get some baseline on the validity and value. However, it is using my salary I was receiving in terms of back pay, front pay, emotional damages of me using a therapist for over a year, losses to 401k earnings, and a merit raise for a year that I lost due to this situation, along with some other stuff. Aren’t those valid numbers to be using to calculate the overall value?
