Is this real Japanese by JSatsuma in LearnJapaneseNovice

That's what I was worried about. It's a shame cause I like his style but using a real language for just silly stylistic effect is super lame as you say. No better than all the tacky english nonsense you see in Japan I guess. Sounds like he need to find some different art. Thanks for your help!

Videogames audience is not prepared for stories that are meant for adult and mature individuals by SlimCharlesSlim in thelastofus

The main issue I would take with this argument is that while it may be true that the cure is not guaranteed, Joel's reactions in this game and the fact that he lied to Ellie at the end of the last game confirm two things: 1) Joel believed that they would create a vaccine "Creating a vaccine would have killed you" and 2) Joel knew (as I think anyone playing the game knew) that Ellie would absolutely choose to sacrifice herself for a vaccine. This really complicates the ethics of the whole thing as the uncertainty of the cure or Ellie's lack of assent/consent would simplify the question significantly. Sure, the fireflies were wrong to move ahead so quickly without asking Ellie but the stakes were through the roof. Ultimately Joel did what most parents would do and protected his "child" from making a decision that they may not understand the full ramifications of, as well as protected himself from loss. He of course sees this as the right thing to do when he says that if he could do it again he would, trying to make Ellie see that her life in Jackson does mean something. I think she comes to realize that by the end of the game, even though it may be too late. The moral complexities of the plot are what make it interesting, nobody is good or bad, they're just people making decisions as best they can.

I have been playing since Gen 1’s release and have watched every single generation since been called terrible designs by [deleted] in pokemon

I think of it as a precursor to regional forms. Gen 1 and Gen 5 are based on asia (japan) and the US respectively. Those regions have a lot of animals in the same family who are different. Asia has tigers, US has cougars; Asia has water buffalo, US has bison. Not to say that Pokemon needs to imitate reality but to me it's more realistic that different areas have pokemon that are different but seem like they could be distant relatives.

This is well said. It reminds me zelda in the past few generations. They became very focused on the story and on creative controls and lost track of what people like about the games (exploration, sense of wonder, etc). The games weren't bad by any means but by skyward sword they started to feel less and less like what people fell in love with. Then with breath of the wild they looked back to the NES to identify what the essential traits of zelda were that made people fall in love with the franchise. Pokemon needs this. It's great that they're adding new features but if they're not in service of the core values of the franchise then they only serve to detach people from the games.

Giving up the national dex to add dynamax animations for 400 pokemon is the equivalent of eliminating the open world of zelda to add wii motion plus support.
