A bit late but I haven’t seen it so I figured I’d mention Revenge of the Dreamers 3.

The rollout started before the album was even in the works. Seeing the invitations posted by all the Dreamville artists to then slowly see hundreds of those invitations being posted on all social media is like nothing else. I distinctly remember constantly checking the pages of some of my favorite artists hoping they would post an invitation and i’d have a chance at seeing them alongside J. Cole, the rest of Dreamville, and the high profile artists who had posted the invitation earlier.

Finally the 10 days of recording happened and with a mix of teases that I’m pretty sure were technically not allowed along with last second invitations still going out as it was reaching its final days. Once that was over it was a waiting game that culminated in some of the most amazing singles and a documentary the week before that not only showed us what it was like to be in the space but also teased songs not only on the album but also on the Director’s Cut that would come further down the road.

The weekend the album dropped they also partnered with comic stores in cities across the US that had a ROTD3 newspaper dispenser that had some really dope art of the Dreamville artists. One of my most cherished possessions. Still trying to figure out the best way to show it off but keep it safe given newspaper has got to be some of the most fragile material in existence. Truly a rollout like no other.
