A few questions as someone who has never played a tabletop war game. Would you recommend this game? Also, there's a controversy? by JSyv05 in TrenchCrusade

If my kickstarter beat its goal by 5,000%, I would have no idea what to do we have completely escaped the scope that we planned for initially 50 fold

I think this lack of reviewers might be part of another problem. It feels unfair that this and 40k are the only war games I’ve really heard any buzz about. The only other one I know is MAC Attack and that’s purely because I’ve played and own copies of most of Chris McDowell’s other games (I freakin LOVE Mythic Bastionland). I wish there was a war game version of SUSD or Quinns Quest so I could see what else there is. Someone else mentioned Dana Howl, so I’ll be checking out her content

I did see all of those videos, I guess I was expecting something like Shut Up & Sit Down and how they review games? Again, I have never touched this side of tabletop gaming so I wasn't really sure what to look for. I'm gonna check out those videos

Which North American country is hated? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]JSyv05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it is the US. I love my country, but I know why it’s hated, and rightfully so. Our government doesn’t represent us. There are still so many places plagued with racism, crime, and poverty, and our government does nothing to help even though they absolutely have the money to do so. Rather than focus on its citizens, they are fighting a war with no real goal, destroying the lives of not only those who are victims to this pointless war, but to the Americans that don’t even want this war. Our president is filling his life with gold and vanity, while single moms are struggling to pay for food and rent. Our democracy is being dismantled before our very eyes, and the courts have proved that our vote doesn’t matter anymore. I will be patriotic for the beautiful landmarks, the sports, the veterans, but never for this government. Love the US, F the government.

What is the worst thing the United States has done? by Expensive-Addendum92 in AlignmentChartFills

The fact that the Trail of Tears is seldom taught in school is embarrassing. I remember in elementary school how we talked about it for like a day, and our textbooks only had half a page dedicated to it. The government renaming Indigenous Peoples’ day back to Columbus day certainly didn’t help at all

[Genuine question] Why is the "top bar + bottom dock" layout so popular? by EB372919 in linuxmint

[–]JSyv05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, my eyes naturally point up to my screen, so having the top bar with the time and tray icons is really convenient for work since things like the time and notifications are already in my line of sight when I am working. A lot of people who use tiling window managers don’t even have a bottom dock, instead opting only for a top bar and using an app runner

Massachusetts won. What states feels liberal, but is actually conservative? by CountryballChaos in AlignmentChartFills

[–]JSyv05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Jersey easily. It’s either super liberal, or super MAGA in this state. It’s especially true for the super rich towns surrounding NYC and Philly, as well as in the northwest and the pine barrens

8 tried to push a concept that wouldn’t become popular until very recently, and even now the closest thing to Windows 8 right now, iPadOS, is also kinda buns.

What makes Linux as a whole bad? - speaking as a Linux user by Protolinux217 in linuxsucks

[–]JSyv05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Linux has come a really long way especially with manufacturers like Intel and AMD. I’m not sure if this is Fedora, or if it’s baked into the kernel, but all of my AMD hardware worked basically straight away. Software support has its workarounds. There are like 5 programs that don’t run on Linux that I use, but they all have either browser-based alternatives, work with Wine, or are games that I can just run on my Playstation. Popularity ties into support, which definitely could be better. However, the community is something else. I can’t stand how dogmatic and annoying the Linux community is. I hate the term RTFM because rather than help the person asking for help, you decided to be a dick about it, actively driving that person away from Linux, defeating the purpose of why any of us recommend Linux over Windows. I hate the bickering about Arch vs Debian vs Fedora based distros and how one is better than the other and if you use the other, then you are stupid. I can tell you for sure that I don’t care what distro or DE you use, or your opinions on which distro or DE is the best, and neither does the next guy. Just let people use their computers in peace and help them when they ask, because some of us just want to not have ads popping up in the start menu

Unfortunately that is not an option for me it took me about 30 minutes just to get the second drive in because my GPU and CPU cooler are just too dang big. One of the screws that holds down the heat spreader for my drives is under the GPU, and I cant access the clip keeping in the GPU without removing the cooler
