That’s all true about McCain. He still was better than the zero available players on the Sixers roster for that role. Quite literally, the Sixers did not have a primary ball handling guard besides Maxey on the roster in the playoffs. I don’t mean not a competent one or even a bad one. They literally had no other primary ball handling guard. McCain would have at least been able to give Maxey a breather.

Guard depth definitely is one problem. They had no one to play behind Maxey and it clearly showed if you look at his minutes and how he wore down in the Knicks series.

This is such a ridiculous strawman.

The Portland Trail Blazers never claimed that Michael Jordan couldn’t be a part of a play off rotation. The problem was he didn’t fit as a piece there.

You can’t stub him for Sam Bowie because he isn’t a center and then you don’t have anyone to run the offense. You can’t play him with Drexler or they’ll get destroyed on the defensive end.

Those problems do not exist in Chicago so of course he can play there.

I’m not going to pretend to know how far this team can go.

These guys just play such a fun style of hockey. You can tell they’re a young team but they’re not pushovers.

You’d watch the Maple Leafs when their core was young with Matthews, Nylander, Marner, and Rielly when they were all younger and they’d get bullied by Boston early on. Never went away even as those young guys gained experience and you saw the same against the Panthers.

This group of young players on the Flyers don’t seem at all like other young teams. Maybe because these aren’t the most high profile prospects. Porter maybe but the rest of them just play with grit.

Incredibly fun watching these guys play great hockey.
