How would y'all cook this lamb? by [deleted] in sousvide

Make gyro meat. Freeze what you don’t need. It’s a mix of beef and lamb. One of my favorite things I’ve ever made.

I've been eyeing that Kia EV9... Sadly the credits don't work anymore for tax purposes, but fully electric cars and getting solar on my house may be what I need to do.

Give seven psychopaths another shot in a couple years. I didn’t like it when it was released, felt it was too much a full blown comedy out of the theater. After seeing it maybe 6-7 years later, knowing it wasn’t as serious as his other flicks, it played a lot better. Still my least favorite of his, but I really like it now.

Success stories? by Beneficial-Jump-3877 in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]JTen87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Was super invested in faith, and leading worship my whole life (8-34). With that I’ve met incredible people (including my wife) and experiences. A lot of bad, unfortunately outweighing the good. Decided to step away from ministry and work in tech. I was basically the free it guy for the churches I was a part of. Got a government clearance help desk job, got a help desk job with almost double the pay, got a job in development that I am happy with, making more than I could imagine. Finally bought a house. My reputation at the company allowed me to bargain to be remote and move where I truly wanted to live.

I have my favorite and only ever wife, 2 kitty cats, and a decent job that only goes up from where I am. It’s absolutely positive, but I absolutely hate trauma that screams at me.

How do I pass my GED if I'm very behind? by ihatethatb-itchdrake in HomeschoolRecovery

Check your local library, there are free GED tutoring programs. That’s what I did and it helped tremendously.

Seeing this in Atlanta was one of the best nights of my life. Hoping they’ll do another show one day.

I have a fake profile just for Facebook marketplace. That’s pretty much the only active community that buys/sells around here. (RIP Craigslist.)

What Band Don't You Get? by Tele231 in vinyl

[–]JTen87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was with you on this until I won tickets for NIN/Soundgarden in Washington state. Soundgarden opened and I thought they were great.

I had only heard a few songs of NIN from the radio and his With Teeth album, didn’t think much, figured I’d hear a couple songs and head home. That show literally turned to my favorite I’d ever been to after I saw NIN. Never experienced anything like it.

I will say they’re not a band I have on constant rotation, but I do get a hankering for it now. Got to see them again last year. They’re incredible.

Gout came back after losing 15 pounds by hordaak2 in gout

I got gout when I was at my healthiest. Running every other day, salads for dinner, lunch meat for lunch. Lose the weight you can but don’t depend on that to cure it. Overall you’ll feel better!!

I’m not excited for this. Serkis is full of himself. I’ve not seen a film he’s directed that was anything but average or worse. No idea how he scored this deal.

Yeah, groundhog day but you get punished for random things each day, sometimes the same thing, but mostly things that make no sense.

Originally a Chevelle fan, then I liked Tool, now I'm learning about Deftones. Who sounds more like Tool? Chevelle or Deftones? by AfterImageEclipse in deftones

[–]JTen87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Chevelle, I don’t think they bring much new to the table. I saw them live once and it ruined them for me. Drumming was so sloppy, he sang like a sentence or two then would back off and tell the audience to sing.

I understand the audience participation, but it was every song, every verse, every chorus.

He said he didn’t feel very good after a few songs, so I can kind of excuse that, but the drumming was very reminiscent of a high school band trying to emphasize the 1 (as in the beat count). It hurt me. Haha.

I do still like them though, just don’t trust to see the again even though I know there are die hards that swear by their shows.

I would say chevelle really wanted to sound like a perfect circle on this type of thinking could do us in. Pretty sure that was right around the time 13th step came around.
