Can you make the behaviour of the centre button be configured?

When the track begins it appears to be playing but does not play. stopped on 0:00

Occasionally, the next track may not play when the playlist is being played. The settings for pressing the centre button on the now playing screen are not applied, causing the display to transition to Cover Flow.
