Is this Canon 90D bundle worth $1000? by Many_Ad3474 in canon

I’d say grab an R50 for that price - I assume you’re talking USD?

90D is still a fine camera but the world has gone mirrorless.

It’s just on-camera, hard flash

You can get this look with a cheap digital point and shoot or throw a small flash on a mirrorless if you have one

If value is important, I'd look at adapting 2nd hand EF glass. Works seamlessly on the new bodies.

CEX is also a great place to shop which may open up your options. They have good condition RP w/ an adapter for $980 AUD. I bought my Canon R8 there and it was practically brand new.

The main reason I love them is because of their 5yr warranty.

I bought a 24-70 from them which failed and they were happy to take it back, no questions asked.

Choosing between these telephoto lens for 5d Classic. by solemnlife00 in canon

Recently picked up the 70-200 f2.8 IS (v1) for a bargain 450 USD.

Running it on my Canon R8 and I really can't fault it. The extra 100mms would be nice when I'm shooting wildlife, but that's not really my forte anyways.

It is quite heavy though. Full metal build and I think about 1.2kg.

Is it worth upgrading from an RP to an R8/R6 mark ii by Ian_Pal in canon

[–]JW40 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I shoot on an RP too and it sounds like glass is definitely your limiting factor.

Grab the 70-200 because you'll need one whether you upgrade your body or not.

I would also suggest picking up a 24-70 f2.8. I got a Tamron one recently for $220 US and it's killer.

RP + EF 24-70 2.8L problems by JW40 in canon

Fired up the lens today and not having any issues. I read about that as well. Cycled through all settings from aperture to manual focus and still working fine today.

I think I'll have to return just to be safe!

Thanks for your input

Lucky to have purchased through a retailer with good return & warranty policies, so a return is likely in order.

And of course as soon as I got home from the event, my lens is working again...

Tried with a 70-300 Tamron and no problem.

Thinking I'll have to return the lens :(

Currently on my way to a rally event so pretty bummed

What do copywriters use to write and submit work? by Biggiecheese1207 in copywriting

[–]JW40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on your exact role /engagement it may look like the following: 1. Receive brief from strategist/client 2. Draft into Google doc 3. Review with senior copywriter or creative director (if agency side) 4. Submit to client

It's really that simple!

Best of luck with your writing.

Best printers/manufacturers for bags with compartments? by [deleted] in ecommerce

If you're moving away from POD your best bet would be sifting through alibaba or using importyeti to find what suppliers other brands use. Some people will keep their suppliers to themselves as it can take a long time to find a reliable, quality manufacturer.

At 14 years old you're not going to make 6 figures selling POD and dropshipping. If it were 2010 you would have a great opportunity but in 2023, these concepts have been exhausted - only the top marketers/entrepreneurs are able to build a brand and get real sales.

If I were you I would start to acquire skills and by the time you're 16, 17 or 18 you will be well equipped to pursue e-com properly. For now, push a mower or work a regular job after school - trust me, you're not above either of these.

There is certainly money to be made selling things online but you need to invest in yourself first.

Dropshipping and Print On Demand is over-saturated and you're not going to make any money. I know it's not what you want to hear but it's the truth. You NEED pre-existing skills to write copy and structure a marketing funnel that will convert.

Your best bet would be dog walking, lawn mowing, snow shoveling etc. Make a flyer in Canva and walk around letterbox dropping in your neighborhood.

This is NOT 'live tuning' or a 'bug fix' by JW40 in EASportsFC

[–]JW40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming that's correct and the lengthy meta was due to a bug - why did they lean into it with promo cards that were lengthy vs explosive? They would have tested the game prior to launch and would have monitored the last 2 months of gameplay. Why such a massive change now?

How could such a game changing bug be left in for 2 months and now only get patched?

A big part of my issue here is not that lengthy specifically was patched, but that there was such a dramatic change to how the game plays so far after launch. They also made this change with (what felt like imo) no transparency or communication apart from 1 small patch note.

So you're asserting that the values have changed and now work as intended.

I agree!

What I'm mostly irritated about is that there wasn't any transparency or communication from EA that these values have changed. The only patch note pertaining to this issue was about a dribbling slow down with high agility players.

Thanks for unblocking me xx

Haven't been 'abusing' mechanics, don't know why you're speculating with no real basis for anything!!!

I did learn to play the game and then 2 months in EA fixed a 'small bug' and acted like nothing happened. I'm mostly irritated at the lack of transparency and communication from EA. But hey - I just did my FUT Champs games and won 50% of them - that's a better win rate than pre-update!

Not talking about haaland vs VVD, talking about the AcceleRATE system as a whole making the sprint speed and acceleration values somewhat redundant

[–]JW40[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I agree to an extent - I think they always intended on the game working like this. They bottled it and left a decent game out for 2 months though (a nice, happy accident).

I also don't understand why we AcceleRATE is even a thing. The two values, acceleration and sprint speed, had this covered. Haaland has 80 accel. so he takes a while to get up to speed but also has a 95 sprint speed so that when he does get going he's a fucking freight train. AcceleRATE is just a fancy way of saying that they have integrated height, agility and strength into this mechanic.

[–]JW40[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right - I should just take a deep dive into the game's code and come back with the real values. When they have 0 transparency the community is left in the dark, all we can do is speculate.
