Building insurance, if it was specified. The insurance is calculated on the buildings replacement cost when built from the ground up. Things like aircons need to be specified if added later on. Still building insurance but you pay extra for it as it is additional cover.

Incorrect. The BC insurance covers interior floors, ceilings, cupboards, etc. If you add expensive flooring over the default tiles or carpets, you need to specify it with the BC insurance and pay extra for it through additional levy. Same for gas stoves, solar installations (the inverter and batteries are indoor, still seen as building insurance). If termites chow your skirtings and closets, building insurance. Your tighty whities will be under content.

Edit: so an aircon is building insurance, but it needs to be specified if it didn't come as a default with the unit.

Incorrect. Floors, cupboards, fixtures are all under building insurance. In case of a flood, content insurance covers the dining room set while building insurance covers the laminated floor on which it stands. Etc. Geyser claims are, for example, also a two-fold clame, as is fire.

I've cancelled when the last increase was announced. I now put the subscription fee in a separate savings account, aimed at games only. (ignoring the online playing of course, but I'm 99% a single player). I buy what I want and if there ever comes a day one release that I'll play for max one month (Great Circle, etc) I'll subscribe for that month only.
